I had another positive for yesterday that I forgot to post!!  Friends of ours had a baby girl born night before last at 8:00.  We visited yesterday and I got to hold the precious little 8 lb girl. I love to hold the little ones but feel sad too because I never had one of my own.

The sun was shining here today as well so that's another positive.

A new life!  Thanks for letting us know, Del.  Nothing like holding a newborn. Restores your soul.   I think this is a great positive today.

My car is mostly packed and ready to go in the morning - only a few more things to tag to be ready for tomorrow's craft show.  Cross your fingers that I sell oodles and oodles of stuff.

This week's best positive was my doc's appointment on Monday.  The appointment was wasn't anything special, it was being able to walk up the steps to the office on the second floor instead of having to take the elevator like I did two months ago that was the best positive about it!  (I barely was able to walk down them last time, let alone up!)

Then again, a boring, nothing's new, doctor appointment is pretty nice, too. . .

Good luck JBeany   :2thumbsup;    Hope you have a very successful show.   I think my postive is that Jbeany is feeling well enough to create her bags and do a show.  You've come a long way in the past few months.    :cuddle;

What a mess for a show.  It was a combo flea market and craft show, and none of the crafters sold a thing.  The fleas flew out the door like crazy, though.  The only thing I sold was the antique doll furniture I use for props!  Ah, well, there's another show in a month at the same place, and I think I'll leave the crafts home and take all the clutter I've been sorting thru and boxing up for a rummage sale.  I'll probably do better with that.  I've been sorting and pitching things to simplify my life, and I have tons of bears, dolls, antiques, wood boxes, ceramic mice, and jewelry that I used to collect that I no longer want or need.  Might as well make some money off it all. . .

So my positive for the day is the 3 boxes of clutter I've sorted out today.  I'm getting better at letting all the stuff go.  The Queen of Knickknacks is resigning from the throne!

Well my pleasure is I went to my new neph this week.  Some of you may remember I changed neph's last Setember because my old neph wanted me to go straight to D, with a perma cath in my neck, when I hit 15%.  I said no and he told me not to come back until I was ready to start D.  So I changed Dr.s and this week I went in and she was overjoyed at my numbers.  She said all my numbers were good and I was up to 20%.  Evidently my numbers were good because I have had colitis since Christmas and couldn't eat as much.  She said she didn't know about that but to keep on doing what I was doing.  Just thinking about I could be sitting in D with a permacath now gives me the shivers.
Thank You Lord.

Love, Mimi

Two more cupboards sorted today.   2 boxes of kitchen stuff set aside for a friend getting a divorce who has to furnish a new apartment, one more box of things likely to sell at the flea market, and one box of assorted lord-knows-what-I-was-thinking-when-I-got-this stuff to donate.

I need more boxes!

Get a friend to come talk to you while you sort.  It helps to have a sounding board, especially if it's a particularly honest friend who can roll her eyes at you when you start talking about how you really, really are going to use that whatcha-hoozit really soon.  (Or fit back into that pair of jeans!)

The spring cleaning clutter war continues at my house.  I came out ahead in today's battle.  I took a full station wagon load to the thrift store.  I had the car so packed I could barely see out the back window.  Lots of little clutter and unused kitchen stuff, but also big stuff like the 6 ft artificial tree I haven't put up in years, and all the fish tanks, wooden double decker tank stand, and pumps and filters for the tanks, which I haven't used in years either.  When I got there and started unloading, the store volunteer told me they didn't take fish tanks or supplies, since they are too heavy and don't sell well.  Well, crud.  I can burn the stand, and put the rest in the dumpster, I guess, but what a waste.  I was mulling over freecycle and craigs list options as I wandered around the store.  One of the other shoppers had a basket of stuff, including a little fish bowl, some tank ornaments, and some fish food.  (Apparently they do take fish tank stuff if it's hidden in boxes of other clutter!)  So, what the heck, I asked her if she was looking for bigger tanks and fish tank supplies.  Why, yes, she's been looking all over for some bigger fish tanks, but none of the thrift stores have them anymore for some reason.   ;D  So, we emptied my car, stuffed it all into hers, and we both left happy!
Don'tcha love it when things work out like that?

Jbeany, please come to my house and talk to my husband about his "treasures".  You could start with the hundreds of books, all of which are going to be re-read, oh yeah sure, and move right along to the ethnic clothes...from India, Afghanistan etc., nostalgic items from the travels of our youth...that look, well just plain silly.

Loved the fish tanks story!

My positive is that I wore my light spring coat today and am liking the smell of thawing dirt...makes my gardener's soul sit up and take notice.  :flower;

My positive has been my whole day.  Sunny and 73. I had lunch with two good friends I'm now sitting in a quiet house by myself.   :2thumbsup;

I've been searching thrift stores for a cute, airy chair to replace the huge square beastie of an armchair that I've had since college.  It was my mother's before mine, and I think she got it right after she finished college, so it's long past it's expiration date, in spite of being recovered a few times.  I found a perfect chair yesterday, only in need of a bit of recovering to make it gorgeous, for only $5.  I'm sure it was cheap because the cushion and back rest are covered in a horrible palm tree print, but I can recover it, and I have plenty of material already, so it won't cost me anything but time.  Ahhh, I do love a good bargain!

I got my friend all moved into her new (upstairs!) apartment.  Whew!  I spent several hours yesterday helping her sort out her old walk in closet and the stacks of clothes she's never gone through.  The problem with having a big closet is that you never have any need to clean it out.  Had a blast teasing her about the clothes I recognized from when we lived together in college.  If you have clothes older than your teenager, it's time to let them go!  :rofl;

Ahh, spring!  The plastic insulation is off all the windows, all the screens are repaired from where the cat dove through them, and a freeze spring breeze is blowing away the paint smell from my efforts to touch up the front door and porch.  I'm using up all the leftover bits of paint in the cupboard, so I'm going to have a patchwork porch this year, with every bit of trim a different color. (You can't dump cans with wet paint - it's considered a toxic hazard, even if it's latex, but you can throw out empty ones with only dried paint in them.  I figured I might as well use them up.)  It should look fun, even if it's a square porch on a trailer, not a gingerbread covered Victorian!
