We have 4 cats (way too many, I'll probably never have another cat after these go) and 4 dogs.  Here's a picture of one of my dogs, my only pure-bred, she's a Belgian Malinois - the type of dog that military and police are using a lot now.  You can also see one of my others, a Lab mix, in the background.  I love my dogs, they are my babies.

Here's another, my cocker mix.  I raised her from less than 2 weeks old.  She almost died twice - once from puppy strangles, second time from parvo.  I had a mini-hospital set up in my bedroom for almost a month, with iv drip, iv drugs, etc.  (I work for a vet but she wasn't allowed in clinic b/c of possibility of spreading parvo.)  Now she is a complete brat with no manners and I have no one to blame but myself because I spoiled her.   ;)   This pic was taken when she was about 5-6 weeks old I believe.

Sara, you are my kind of peoples girlfriend.  Anyone who cares so much for an animal of any kind deserves alot of credit.  These poor creatures are taken for granted and they are just so damn wonderful to whoever pays a little attention to them.  I just recently lost my "Keanu" he passed away on July 22nd in my back yard,  it was the hardest thing i had to deal with in a long time.  I had him for 14 years of my life.  He moved with us 3 times, he was mascot to my daycare and he was a brother to the kids,  the best damn dog ever!! God Bless my Keanu, i miss him soooo much.

Oh  :'( I'm so sorry to hear about your baby Keanu.  That is such a horrible and tough thing to go through.  When that day comes to one of mine, I don't know what I'll do.   :'(

I completely agree with you about them being taken for granted.

I have 2 cats.
They were left in a corn field and I rescued them and took them in.
They were little one pounders, sickly and malnourished. Have thrived.
The black one (Spunky) swallowed a dime shortly after I took him in and
it lodged in his intestines and cost me $$$ for surgery to save him.
What a deal!  He is friendly and loves people. The gold one (Pumpkin)
is shy and hides when company comes.  I absolutely love dogs but am not
here to let them in and out, etc. as needed so don't have one presently.
I miss having a dog.

I think she's almost a year old right now, I can't keep the dates straight LOL.  Here she is today.  She's about 26 pounds, can't believe she's gotten that big!  She has that wavy hair but luckily it's been staying fairly short so no need for grooming...yet.

I have a "Licket". We call her that becasue she licks us all the time.  She is a labrador, whippet mix.  About 50 lbs.  Sweet as can be. A rescued dog.
I also have three cats all over age 11.  An orange tabby, a grey cat, and a siamese with grey tips cat.

This is my cat Emms. I got her when I had to put my old cat Scrapper down. I loved Scrapper as I had her from the very first day she was born from her mother Toonces. Scrapper was a very smart cat who would come when I called her and she would sit up for treats on command. In the end Scrapper kept getting seizures (5 within the last 24 hrs) and she became a danger to not just herself but to me as well because one of the times I was on my Cycler and she fell between my bed and the machine and she still had all her claws .. I cried for many days for what she was going through since she was all I had. I live alone. Emms is a great cat but no one will ever replace my Scrapper  :'(    Scrapper is the gray one!

This mangy mutt is Hanna and I really do mean Mutt, shes Lab / Sheppard / Rottie and despite destroying a couple shoes, some carpet and any food left within reach she has truly become man's best friend. She makes me laugh constantly with her incomprehensible dog talk and cheers me up in my bluest of blue moods.

These are my Miniature Pinchers, Pebbles (L) and Adrianne (R).  I adopted them when they were 7 and 8.  They are Mother and Daughter.  Pebbles is the baby.  Their nicknames are Oumpa and Lumpa or Me and Mini Me.

Are those the two little ferocious dogs that ate your cookies that one time?? lol,  They are adorable.  How is their temperament?  I heard mini-pinschers are very territorial.  Have you ever had any trouble with them biting any strangers or anything like that?

Yes, "Territorial" is a perfect word.  When it is just us at home, they are so cute and quiet.  The minute the door bell rings they go ballistic.  I can't shut them up.  People have to come in and sit down.  Then they are quiet.  The minute that person moves, they are barking.  I don't know if they are all like that, but these are.   >:D

I have been trying to avoid this thread like anything.  But here is it, always appearing in my unread topics.  You see, we had a lovely dog called Capri who died early this year. :'(  Some time, I will post his picture here.

Sorry, Bajanne.   :(  I know how sad that is.  All pet lovers do.  It may do you good to post Carpi's picture.  Kind of a Tribute.

Very pretty Rerun.  And I love that their ears aren't cropped.  They make a cute pair.
