Title: Members locations
Post by: Gramapat on February 21, 2008, 01:48:43 PM
Is there a member map showing where members are located or a thread that everyone has posted on stating where they are?  I'm in Sacramento, California and was just wondering.  :waving;

KT, To be considered a "North Carolinian," you don't have to currently LIVE in our beautiful state.  If you were born here, ever lived here for a minimum of one day, or even passed through here (on I-95, maybe) on your way somewhere else, we will claim you.  Get out your map and see how far it is from Atlanta to Wilmington, NC (Marvin said he thought it was about a six-hour trip).  When this NC group gets together, you're invited, too!

I know how you feel. I grew up in farm country in Maryland. We went sledding among the cows in the field next to my house. My high school was surrounded by corn on 3 sides. Once, during Ag Day, a pig got loose in the school. Oh yeah, and the kids who were in Future Farmers Of America actually drove tractors to school on Ag Day!

Moline has been strongly associated with John Deere, inventor of the self-scouring steel plow. Deere & Co. is still headquartered in Moline and is one of our area's largest employer.  Both my husband and I were employed by John Deere as well as most of the members of both of our families.

Hi  We are from the UK  Live right by the sea in a place called Selsey Bill on the West Sussex coast of England. It's really lovely and love going for long walks along the beach, unfortunately John can't come with me anymore as he is too poorly. I wish England had a site like this as I would love to meet someone in the same position as me, to exchange notes and have a shoulder to cry on sometimes. Yvonne

I live in Seattle, in the state of Washington (the other/better Washington - the upper left corner of the country). Home of Starbucks and lots of good coffee. AND the first out of hospital dialysis center in the world, what is today the nonprofit Northwest Kidney Centers, the forth largest nonprofit dialysis provider in the country.

Seattle was the home of the first dialyzor - Clyde Shields a union mechanic for a Boeing contractor he in effect gave his body to science to see if this dialysis could work long term; he lived 11 years.

Plant City, Florida  home of the Strawberry Festival

Oh, man...when I lived in Florida from '92-'96, my favorite thing in that fershlugginer state was the Strawberry Festival.

Not Disney, not Universal, not Busch Gardens, but giant mounds of strawberry shortcake for just a couple bucks!

Heck, I even saw Billy Ray Cyrus at the height of his achy-braky days (it was a free concert and I had to sit somewhere to eat my giant, fresh strawberry shortcake...mmmm....)

Oh yeah...forgot to mention where I'm from.

Lessee...the first 19 years I lived in Oregon, then in '92-'96 I lived in Port Charlotte, Fl (most popularly known prior to the hurricane a few years ago as the county with the highest percentage of the population over the age of 65), then I moved back to Oregon from '96-2000, then I moved to Oklahoma, where I now reside in Norman, about a mile from the University of Oklahoma and home of the Sooners (and no, I'm not a fan).

Sooo...I'm an OreFlorigoniOklahoman.

Hello Everyone

Frappr map questions
Well, the only benefit of using your real e-mail is that if you forget your password you can have it sent to you.

I as the admin cannot see the e-mails but we do not "own" the map and it is a beta version, so whomever runs the site might have access to that information I have not received any spam from this site as of yet.

If you have any questions that I can answer (kinda/sorta) please feel free to IM me  ;D

Wright City, Missouri
Basic small town, just a widening alongside I-70 about 60 miles West of St Louis.

So small we only have one traffic light, and it is flashing red.

Warrenton 7 miles to the West is a really swinging town.  They had TWO working traffic lights.  And a few years ago they added another pair at their freeway exchange.

Swinging, freely, when the wind blows.

Our house is exactly between both towns, 3 1/2 miles to either one.

Glad to see this thread brought back.  I don't know if the initial 'map' project is still happening, but I am sure we have a lot of new members join since this thread has been left behind.

What could be neat is if anyone that has the ability to take a world map and add in the waypoints for each member that has posted in this thread.  Then send it ti kitkatz for approval.  Hopefully admin will lilke it enough they will make a space for it and post it so everyone can look at it as see the dots/member names.  It could be neat to find people close enough, possibly lead to 'local' meetings so we can actually put real faces to a couple of names.

I know the Baxter truck makes one other delivery in my area but because of the 'privacy laws' there is no way they will let either of us know anything about the other.

Won't even give the other person my phone number.  And I said "Please!"

Any volunteer to re-make a current map?

Hard to believe ANYTHING within 20 miles of Boston has only one stoplight. :rofl; :rofl;

 I grew up outside of Boston and I can't stand going back there the traffic EVERYWHERE is so bad.
It's not that bad in my area except if you are heading west during rush hour (I head east, so it is not a problem).  The advantage of being in a dense area is many clinics.  The clinic that supports my dialysis is 10 minutes from my house (including the time to park), and the backup clinic is 30 minutes, with a third about 40 minutes away.

I'm in Gordon, Texas for a few days and had to drive about 75 miles through the most unpopulated areas you can imagine (think cactus, multi-thousand acre ranches, and oil wells) to finally get to a town in the middle of nowhere with a dialysis clinic (I don't haul the NxStage when traveling)
