I  know nothing about keto other than hearing some people at a pool party talk about it.

I'm not supportive of any diet that goes to extremes to have one food type over another.  I think when on dialysis we need an even more balanced diet since who knows what is being removed via dialysis.

If a person does want to do some sort of diet I'd stay away from any new hip diet and go with one that has been around for a long time so the good and bad about the diet has been discovered.

Talk to your dietitian.

I lost 80 pounds on keto. I love the diet, but it's my understanding that all the protein intake is hard on your kidneys. The usual keto diet takes in a lot of meat, which would give you problems with high phosphorus.

I think the "normal" PD diet is very high in protein.  I eat 4 eggs (only one yolk) for B'fast and about 1/2 lb of meat or fish for dinner and I still come in too low on albumin.  I doubt that Keto is higher than that.  Keto is mainly about very low carbohydrate and high fat.

I'm struggling with KETO.  I'm taking it because I have a bad case of skin cancer.  I'm trying to starve the cancer.  It lives off glucose and/or sugar.  I don't like meat and cheese because of phosphorus.  I get the itches.  I also like to pass my blood tests each month.  I don't like eating butter yet.  I don't like mixing butter in my coffee.  I like avocado but I'm leery of potassium.  Since I don't eat fruit or nuts I can get away with one avocado a day.  It's about 1,000 mg. of potassium (daily limit of 2,000 mg per day).  It got the good fats and fiber I need too.  I can get my protein from one bars which are low in phosphorus and carbs.  I see conflicting advice about one bars.  Keto flu is also a problem.  I don't care about losing weight, but a lot of people use keto to drop 100 pounds.  A water fast is the best way to starve cancer, but that's a bit extreme.

I got keto flu when suddenly going off the diet and bingeing on carbs.  Happened twice before I figured out it was keto-related, as I'd never heard of keto flu. Not fun!

I love meat. I ate at least 24oz a day while on the diet. Usually beef or pork. Chased it with a couple ounces of hoop cheese purchased off a wheel at a country store..

well yeah, you do realize that an egg white only has 4g protein correct?  adding the yolk takes that up to 7gr.   8oz of fish or meet is in the mid 20's... your SUPER low with your protein intake, you need at least 1g/lb of body weight.

keto is high fat and high protein.  it is all meat/fish/nuts/eggs/oils/ect.  it is WAAAAYY higher that 4eggs and 8oz of meat/fish.  you may want to read up on nutrition a bit before giving your feedback and i would also suggest if this is all the protein that you get during the day to add a few shakes inbetween your meals and that will get your albumin up considerably.

My dry weight is 76.5k and the nutritionist set my protein at 60-70g per day.

Adding shakes between meals also adds to fluid intake. Everything  is a balancing act on a renal diet.

Not the eggs I eat.  They are Jumbo eggs with 8-9g protein each  times 4.  Then there's the toast and 2 slices of uncured, low sodium bacon and a small amount of sour cream and some fresh salsa (pico de gallo).
