For the last 3 days I started walking 24 minute miles (2.5mph) on a 2% incline, 2 miles at a time. Well today to mix it up and give my body some suprises I walked 1 mile at 2.5 mph and 2% incline, and the 1 mile at 2.5 mph and 4% incline... lemme just say AFTER i felt awesome, but during I thought I was gonna die.. lol!

The funny part was a couple of miles into the race these 7-8 year old kids come running by me.  I heard the people running behind me shout, "trip them". ;D :D

I been doing 2 miles on the treadmill everyday with a rest day, and weights 3x a week.. and Hip Hop Abs video.. well, since tonight were leaving to go to Arkansas for a funeral, we won't be home for 4/5 days... I'll only be able to go for walks... Do you think this will throw me off the losing weight track?

Dont they have areas that you can walk either early morning or early evening in Arkansas?  you aint gonna get out of it that easy girlfriend ;)  I say just watch what you eat and any chance you see to step away, go for a walk, even if it is around a block, go a couple of times,  dont let your body slip into the lazy mode so that when you come home your not going to want to start back up again... you can do this girlfriend,  good luck and have a safe trip  :cuddle;

I'm still holding steady at 40 minutes on off-dialysis days.  I've started using little hand weights for a few minutes everytime, too.  It seems to help my nerve damaged wrist a little, but I can't do much before it starts to hurt!

Well, I did horrible while in Arkansas. I ate everything and anything... I think it was mostly emotional eating. I did NOT do any exercise... I could of walked down lovely hilly roads and got great workouts, but what'd I do? Sat around.. visited with family... but I'm back home, and back on track.. back on the exercise wagon! :)

Fell of the wagon big time. Having a hard time getting back on it. Tired all of the time.

I walked by myself for 45 minutes in the arroyo near my house today. It's so beautiful right now. I tried to keep the pace up so I could feel my heart.
I usually walk with a friend but she's been unavailable lately. Being alone was nice for a change!

I fall off the excersize wagon but find that getting back on isn't really very hard.  If you just go out and do it once or twice your body feels like it hasn't missed a beat.

I recall reading about a young woman who worked for a nutritional supplement company and who was also on dialysis.  She mentioned her excersize regimen which included weight training and running.

You can excersize and feel great on dialysis...some people have done it.  I wasn't a member of that club but it just shows you that we can feel alot better if we really want to make the effort to do it.

Fell off the wagon today - got up and did so many chores and errands I never made time to work out.  Now I'm feeling guilty.  The question is, am I feeling guilty enough to set my alarm early and get up and do the workout before I go to dialysis tomorrow?  Well. . . .maybe!

Thought I was getting in reasonably good shape with my 40 minute work outs.  Then I decided to add some crunches to the mix.  (It is my stomach I'm trying to flatten to make the transplant surgeon happy, after all.)  Owwwwwie!  After 20, I'm laying on the floor in a puddled heap, panting.  Ah, well, good for me, right?

For the past week I have been doing 30 mins on the exercise bike plus 30 mins in the sauna (the amount of fluid that sweats out is sweeeeet... and it's also relaxing, so works on both counts!). I also walk half way to work on the way in, and half way on the way back... about 30-40 mins total. Breaking it up during the day works for me and it feels good to get out and do something AND lose fluid :)

I must say I feel good after the exercise and will perhaps slowly ramp it up on the bike.... slowly anyway.
