Hi all, I have been on dialysis now for 2 months and am feeling pretty good so far.

I had my appointment with my coordinator last week, and she told me that I should be doing some exercise.

I would like to know if there is anyone in here that would like to join me in this.

We can post when we do our exercises , and what we did.

I think that this would make me more apt to continue.

So I will start.

kimcanada - sunday march12 - walked 2 miles (walking video)

I rode to work today, it's 12 miles. I still need to ride home.  :banghead;

Many people live and maintain an active life on dialysis. I encourage everyone to do some form of exercise. Start slow and increase the intensity.

Awesome idea, I think other people joining in helps make me more prone to sticking with it as I dont want to let anyone down. I been cleaning the whole house today, so far, been up and down the stairs who knows how many times, chasing my kids all over, doing laundry, vaccuming... thats exercise... lol. I dont know what it is in miles but lemme just say im tired and im only half way done.  :P

There was even an 81 yrold lady and boy was she good. It was a great work out even though I felt as if I had two left feet!

Luckily I am able to laugh at myself  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;               :yahoo;

Great idea.

I took my dog for a mile walk today.  The weather in Northern Indiana is finally starting to break. In the high 40's today.

30 minutes on my glider today.  20 yesterday (I started coughing and gave up!).  But tomorrow it's back to dialysis, and I can't find the energy to much of anything when I come home from that.  I need to get my time up to an hour to account for the 3 days a week I'm NOT exercising.

I am just doing this on the days I am not in dialsys also, I am a T,T,S

Thats why its better if we do this in here, everyone else I know is 5 days or 6 days a week exercising, and I feel like I am not doing enough, but really we are doing enough for what we do on the other days RIGHT :)

Well, shoot.  Yesterday I did not exercise. Early dialysis wiped me out right into a nap.  Geez I hate how I feel sometimes after dialysis.
Today I am prepping for colonoscopy so we shall see what happens after that one!

This is a good idea ... mind if I join you guys? I have been trying to walk 30 minutes on the treadmill. Maybe not every day, but 5 days a week. My best time is in the morning after breakfast. I plug in my iPod and watch the Today show. And sometimes my kittycat watches me from her cat tower, like, "You idiot, why are you working so hard when you should be petting ME?"

My cat doesn't like my exercise machine, either.  She runs when I set it up, then creeps back in the room and yowls while I'm on it.  It must squeak in a frequency that bugs her.

35 minutes today - now I'm going to clean house.  That counts, too, right?

Welcome Lee Anne......I checked out your recipe site....very nice.   I'm pre-dialysis, but I'm trying to limit my protein and just eat healthy.    Would love to lose about 70 lbs.  :banghead;

Today I took my dog for a mile walk.  I tried to sped up my pace at little to get my heart a goin'.

I should clean my house, but I think I might just take a nap instead.  :lol;
