I am curious, HemoDoc, if you are opposed to profit in medicine, how much profit did you make as a physician?ND
That is a bizarre question. What does profit in medicine have to do with a person getting paid to work. ? Despite what you are insinuating, doctors are just paid for their work , unless they own part of a corporation (which most of us dont). No one works for free, unless you are offering to start yourself and show us the way. Doctors may be "God like"'( thats a joke) but we still have bills to pay and in most cases families to care for.

Why don't you call your own doctor and ask that and see what he says! Really?
Huh, where did this come from???Since I didn't own any business, my profit technically is zero. Was I paid well? Yes. Is that a surprise. Now, pray tell, what does that have to do with my opposition to for profit medicine? The National Health Services in England typically pays their primary care docs much more than what we made here in the US. What does that have to do with the issue of corporate profits. In fact, I was paid well in a non-profit organization that as a patient provided for me in abundance compared to these horrible for-profit dialysis providers. I greatly miss my stand alone Kaiser dialysis facility in Kaiser Sunset in LA. They are completely non-profit. They pay there nurses, doctors and ancillary staff at a much higher rate than the average for-profit workers.None of my wages were at risk with patient treatments. That is a clear difference with many of the for-profit organizations that pay the docs and patients from the same pot. Kaiser has outcomes that bode well. I understand well the benefits as a physician in a non-profit organization to take care of my patients without pre-approval for every procedure and referral. So, not sure what logic is behind this bizarre question, but the answer is that non-profit medical organizations historically outperform the for-profit organizations.
Is there a moderator around?
ND:Who died and left you as board moderator? My undergrad is in Economics, do not get arrogant with me.
No. It is the way you say it.

My response to you was in no way an act of a board moderator, just as your calling out Hemodoc has nothing to do with the point you so inadequately tried to make. You have an undergrad degree in Econ. So I, or anyone else for that matter, should be impressed?
