Not where I come from.  Smarties ( yes, that is a link ) are basically mildly sour, chewable candy.  Kind of like what you get out of a pez dispenser.

We have candy covered chocolate as well but we call them M&M's.

Well our Smarties are like M&M's but taste just a little different (I like M&M's best as they don't melt in your hands like Smarties do ;))

Smarties that are candy covered chocolate.

Well I didn't have Smarties or M&M's for supper.   ;) I had 2 pork chops breaded in corn meal, instant mashedpotatoes, green beans and a Dr. Pepper float.  I was all out of Rootbeer.  :'(

instant has less....ummm, i think.   lol, yea.....3 binders down the hatch.
i've been drinking alot of dr. pepper and mt. dew lately and my phosphorus was 6.6 today.  the dietician said i need to let up on the dr. and mt dew is a better choice if i choose to drink either one.  i think i will get back to drinking my a&w rootbeer and cream soda.   ;D

Wow that is high considering (US numbers) it should be 2.3-4.7 mg/dl.

Ya the A&W rootbeer (and Mugs at least here) don't have phosphate in it (always check the label as certain brands ADD it) but MOST cream sodas do I think.

Maybe I should start a thread on pop contents ;) hhehe :P

YUM on both of those choices!

PS:  I once had a nurse get all upset when she saw me drinking Cream Soda.  She said it had cream in it, and therefore it was high in phosphorus.

For those not familiar with Cream Soda, it's simply vanilla flavored soda.  No cream, no milk.  It doesn't even look like cream!

Still check the labels! I mean I had Orange Crush once and then discovered that it had phosphate in it added!!

Not like regular soda isnt an acquired taste since they went from sugar to corn syrup.  :P  Course most everyone today hasnt even had real soda made with sugar in it so they are used to the taste today. :-\

Isn't a reuben a corned beef sammie?  Oh my gosh, I miss the corned beef.  That sounds delish

Yep, corned beef, swiss cheese, rye bread, sauerkraut.  Joe did a modified reuben with very little cheese and regular bread so hopefully that helped a little, but I know that corned beef has got to be bad for renal diets.
