today for Thanksgiving dinner I suspect (by my mom's email) we will have store bought already cooked chicken from the hot deli which means it will have their season already on it. Also my mom will have her mashed potatoes with 1/2 and 1/2 cream in it. Also home made mushroom gravy.

I know my mom doesn't remember my diet so there is no point bringing it up. I just make sure to have my binders on me and stay away from those potatoes ;)

Good thing I am not diebetic. I can have the corn and she said there will be apple crisp :) Yum!

Zach, I like reading your menus, they always seem so balanced and healthy, but I'm wondering, aren't you hungry?  Joe would never be able to eat only what you eat and be satisfied.  Is it just a matter of getting used to smaller portions, or what?

I don't eat that well at all.  Usually i eat like once a day.  Scared to put on weight.  Most of the time I eat out.  So today I had Wendys.
3 chicken strips
medium fry
medium sprite
sweet & sour sauce
I cant believe what passes for a small, medium and large nowadays.  That medium sprite looked more like an extra large to me.  Unforunately I drank it all.  And I will pay for that tomorrow morning.

Yes it's portion size, but it's also eating more of the side dish--pasta/rice/couscous to fill me up.
I eat three meals a day plus two snacks ... usually protein bars.  So it seems like I'm always eating!!

I made a general meal plan for myself that has the the necessary K/DOQE nutritional guidelines for calories and protein, plus my daily limit of phosphorus and potassium.  I couldn't get the dietitian to help me whatsoever.  The meal plan helps me stay within the necessary limits.

I don't go out often, but when I do, such as to the OUTBACK, I order shrimp on the BBQ, steak and a lobster tail!  And take about four PhosLo.

Can we see some of your meal plans?

Is anyone else bothered by indigestion a couple of hours after eating?

If you are worried about putting on weight then why are you going to Wendys? You can eat much more than that (of other food) and not put on weight.

To me Wendys is way better than McDonalds or Burger King, however once in a while I will crave a Big Mac or a Whopper. But Wendys really is good and they 5 nuggets for 99cents can't be beat, I usually get 3 or 4 orders.  :o

I am taking Renagels and i get heartburn like a son-of-a-gun,  especially as soon as i hook up and lay down, and it lasts for about 4 hours, not consistent, it goes away then returns, never had it before until they switched me from Fosrenol to Renagel.  :banghead;

I take omeprazole twice a day for indigestion, reflux and ulcers. I rarely get any symptoms now. Although if I miss just one dose, it comes back straight away and takes a few days for it to settle again.

Here is a day plan I wrote on MS Excel.  BigSky has posted a link to a much better meal program.

Go to dietpower.com and download the free software or order the free trial cd.  It should be good for two weeks before it locks you out.  It is very helpful.

It sucks  :(but measure/weigh everything you eat and then input it into the program.  Throughout the day and at each days end you can see a rough amount of how much PO4 you are taking in.

Thx Zack! I think we are ALL interested because you sure seem to have it all together and make it look easy ;)  :lol; :thx; :angel; :cuddle; :2thumbsup;

I've been hearing you mention Smart Balance before. What exactly is that? Is that like some sort of cereal?

Also I thought all protein bars (or what ever that Zone bar is) were too high in Potassium to look at. Thanks for all your input!  :2thumbsup; :thx;

Smart Balance is a butter substitute but it's better than margarine because it doesn't the trans fat stuff.  Plus it's supposed to actually IMPROVE your cholesterol.  We've been using it for a long time now, it tastes good, you can cook with it just fine, I'm glad it's at least one thing we're doing right LOL.
