Mmm, shark. I love shark. When I was living in Santa Barbara, we had a lot of good local thresher shark. It's like swordfish, but even more like meat or chicken than fish. Really good grilled.

Pork Strips, in the crockpot, potato salad and corn on the cob. All good, but I did get carried away with the horseradish in the potato salad. It practically bit you back.

Cracker Barrel serves some new dishes cooked in foil -- once bubba got the roast beef and I got the chicken and both meals were good -- especially the vegetables
I usually get the green beans, mac and cheese and small children' s dessert -- choc sundae
they took salmon patties off their menu and now they suck
except right after Christmas when everything in the store is 50 - 75% off

Horseradish in potato salad sounds good! I may have to try that.

I am making chicken and canellini bean soup for lunch today. I think it is pretty renal friendly (maybe not for dialysis patients though because of the beans -- but for other stages). We will see how it turns out. Hubby will be the guinea pig!

What can I have tonight?  I have unfrozen chicken drumsticks but that'd be a mess.  I have peanut butter, cheese (but no bread), cereal  (but none of it sounds good).  Oh, store bought chicken salad... that's easy enough.

Danny boy do you have some chili powder, garlic powder, and pepper?  Maybe a pinch of salt of you are feeling daring?  And some veggie oil?  Mix them all in a bowl with your drumsticks and pop them in the oven for a bit. And yummy chicken.  Sure beats peanut butter

Thanks! Someone's paying attention!  :birthday;

I went out to Wood Ranch BBQ for dinner. I had the combo with tri-tip and BBQ half chicken, with peanut coleslaw and grilled white corn. I still have lots of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.

We are being overrun by vegetables! I am an impatient, untalented cook, so I have no idea what to do with all of these CSA vegetables, and my husband loves cooking but does not have the time.

We just picked up our share last night, and we have many leftovers from the past week (some of it may not be usable). Broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, zucchini (courgettes if you insist), squash, tomatoes, lettuce, beets, pole beans, english peas, and eggs, eggs, eggs! Someone save us!

My son has his birthday party tomorrow, so I want to save my energy, but I am thinking I may attempt some sort of broccoli/cauliflower/cheese soup, perhaps throw some kohlrabi in there. The kids won't eat most vegetables without being threatened, so my husband and I better love it.

Next week we have the meat CSA on top of the vegetables. Some 15 pounds of frozen meat will be coming direct from the farm.... and I am a vegetarian.  :rofl;

I have a good cauliflower and cheese soup recipe if you want it. My husband loves it and I think it would be pretty kid friendly too with the cheddar cheese. Just may not be renal friendly.
