Even if they never come and join Manda you can always tell them stuff you learn and even print out things you think might be helpful to either or both of them. I'll be thinking of them in the weeks to come.
Spot on - monrein mate - as usual
I too have tried to encourage family members to join but alas
I just print off stuff from this site and share the info with them - especially Dad
He just wants to go in to the unit , get dialyised, then get out and go home
It can be especially hard for your Pop if your Pop has never been "sick" before
My Dad found it difficult being the "man" of the house and being the "strong" one for the family and then dialysis became apart of life and his lifestyle changed
Instead of us leaning on and relying on Dad and his advice and strength - the tables (in his eyes) had turned - now he doesn't feel strong and believes he has to rely on us
Just be there for your family , to talk with or listen to
And gain strength from IHD family
And yes we do cry
Lots of love to you and your family
Stay strong and informed mate
