When I get to pick the restaurant, I usually will pick a fast food place, ANY of them!   LOL

I have had 2 fistuals-neither one worked
I have had 2 grafts the last one finally "took"
I had 3 different catheters from Nov. 06 - Dec. 08
Got on the transplant list - Halloween Day 2008

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.    I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SOOOOO TRUE!

My biggest vice is wanting to drink tea, water, coke anything and lots of it
am having a hard time since IKE with fluid restrictions

Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

I'm very thankful to my parents for encouraging me to think for myself, even though I'm sure it wasn't fun debating endlessly with an idealistic teenager who never tired of arguing ideas.

Anyway, I am very thankful to my dear & wonderful Mama (my "Father" left when I was 3) that she did NOT have sympathy for me being "disabled" & she instilled in me too be & do anything I sat my mind too do!!!   She was GREAT!!!!    :bow;

I found out there was no Santa at age 8 when my dad had died 5 months before, and my mom warned us that Christmas would be very simple that year (huh? Why would that affect Santa??)
My grandparents and neighbors must have rallied together because it turned out to be a bountiful Christmas, but very sad with my dad gone.
