THE PASTOR'S CAT...
Dwight Nelson recently told a true story about the pastor of his
Church.
He had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and
Then was afraid to come down.
The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down.
The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that
If he tied a rope to his car and pulled it until the tree bent down,
He could then reach up and get the kitten.
That's what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car.
He then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten.
But as he moved the car a little further forward, the rope broke.
The tree went 'boing!' and the kitten instantly sailed through the air - out of sight.
The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten.
No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten.
So he prayed, 'Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping,' and went on about his business.
A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members.
He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food.
This woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her,
'Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?' She replied,
'You won't believe this,' and then told him how her little girl had
Been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing.
Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom
Finally told her little girl, 'Well, if God gives you a cat, I'll let
You keep it.' She told the pastor, 'I watched my child go out in the
Yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you
Won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly
Came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed
Right in front of her.'
Lesson learned: Never underestimate the Power of God and His unique
Sense of humor.

just like my children when they were younger- they like the box better than the toy
my cats like string or yarn
a cheap trick - save tuna water and pour it on cheap dry cat food
they do not like to be dressed in doll clothes - I have the scars to prove that

My cats like to play "train the human."
Eliza trained me to come when she calls -- to give her catnip, let her in or out, or whatever else she wants, just to prove she owns me.
Precious trained me to stop whatever I'm doing to pet her. She steps in front of me and goes belly up, so my choice is either rub her tummy or step on her.
Clyde trained me to share people food (just tiny bites!). She ever so prettily paws at my plate until I give in. She's elderly and I have trouble keeping weight on her, so I give her tastes. Clyde also trained me to get up in the mornings according to HER schedule. She walks across me yowling at the top of her voice, then jumps off the bed. If I don't respond immediately, she repeats the action every minute or so until I give in. If I'm especially stubborn, she wakes up the dog. Then I *have* to get up because he needs to go out potty as soon as he wakes up.
Sammy and Oscar trained me to wake up several times during the night. They take turns poking me, walking on me, or laying on my face to make me pet them.
All five worked together to train me to open a second can of cat food on demand. They *know* when it's breakfast or suppertime, but Precious and Oscar take turns showing up late and then demand that I open another can of food because they missed out on their share. I think they work it out in secret among the five of them. I can hear the conversation now. "Hey Oscar, it's your turn to be late to dinner. Wait until the rest of us have finished off that first can, then show up and look pathetic. She'll open another can and we all get seconds!"

TynyWonder..
My kitten (and my late cat) loved paper balls (crush up some paper and roll into a ball.) My new kitty plays fetch -- all night if you keep throwing the darn ball and she will bring it right back to me. My cats have also liked used toilet paper rolls, newspapers to hide under and do sneak attacks, and shoe boxes are always a source of entertainment. I also had a kitty once that liked those little cheap mice. When we would clean we'd find them everywere -- couch cushions, dining room chairs, etc.

Top toys our 2 cats play with,
Any new box (we still have a big one the female loves to play in)
Paper Bags,
Leather string
Christmas Wrapping paper
Mice that rattle, but tails are chewed off on the first 5 minutes of opening them and playing with. Newspaper, especially when your holding it up and reading
Empty Water bottles
Paper Towel, Toilet Paper, or Wrapping Paper cardboard rolls
Then there are the things they expect you to do and when. Fed when they come calling, not at your set time, must have a drink out of your water bottle or waterever platic bottle you are holding and drinking, 4:30 am is your wake up time

Odd thing happened today, dad took cat's in for the usual nail trimming and this time the female cat went bonkers. She was scratching and biting the person, urinated on herself, hissing and growling at my dad which is not normal for her. They didn't touch her after all that. Now she is in the basement locked downstairs till she calms down and has to be cleaned, which is normally handed to me
Dad's upset, wants to get rid of her (think she took a swipe at him too), he is totally pissed off at her. I can't take the risk of giving her a bath with sharp nails due to transplant. I'm thinking maybe she needs to be sedated now to have nails done, but what have been your experience with cats and nail trimmings? Anyone heard/seen of a cat bag for washing a cat? It is a net type of bag you have the cat in so it restricts movement. Only seen it twice, but never had a problem to where I needed it. No I do and pet stores do not have it. No idea where to get it or the correct name to do a proper web search.

I haven't ever trimmed my cats' claws, why is it necessary?
I never bathe them either, the vet said that a healthy cat will bathe itself, and that's the way nature intended it.
Maybe your cat has a torn claw or something painful that set her off. Poor kitty.
