Knew I was going on dialysis since November 1999.
Had a fistula put in January 2000.
Been on 4-1/2 hour dialysis since August 28, 2001. (They took out 35Kg that single week)

Maria hasbeen on hemodualysis since January, 2005

Got on Facebook and found out my nephew is running for alderman in one of Chicago's ward. Want to get the rift-raft out of the ward. We shall seee...

Sorry but I don't see that happening anytime soon. As much as we would like to see that here, it'll keep happening. Everyone is guilty who has been elected so far. I guess it's a Chicago tradition noone wants to give up. Would be a nice thing to happen if it changed.

   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it

As a 22nd ward resident for 45+ years(with a few years away in other states) I totally agree. So much corruption that it turned me into a conservative. Most of my extended family are Democrats.

Hello all you lovely people!!  :yahoo;

I am back from a lovely holiday by the sea.   I just want to say Dialysis is just as crappy - no matter where you do it.

I hated going to dialysis while the family did fun stuff......... but the very small (3bed) unit was lovely and they made an effort to give special treats to us holiday victims so I suppose it wasn't that bad.

I missed being here. Hope all is well here in IHD land. I hear it has been snowing in the USAand in UK. I hope you have all been safe and warm.
