Just another hamster on the dialysis W.O.F.

« Reply #22375 on: February 23, 2010, 12:07:21 PM »

        Hello everyone from dialysis   :waving;.   Hope you are all having a good day.

        Small rant.  Got picked after my start time at the center.  Then their van broke down at the end of my driveway.  Finally got here an hour late.   :stressed;  It gets better   :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;  Had to wait 20 minutes after I got here to go in, then anothr 20 min to get stuck.  I won't get ut of here till 5 pm!   :rant;   I'll get over it, but had to complaint.  :rofl; :rofl;     ;)

         Yesterday was a great day.  Spent most of it with the grandsons (3 and 16 months).  The 3 year old wanted to try taking a photo of his dogs.  So, I let him use my camera. With a little instruction from me and his parents, he took his first photo. Good picture of the dogs.   :2thumbsup;  He then wanted to take one of his grand parrents, which he did.   :yahoo;  Might post it.  Digital photo is great, he got to see how well he did.  :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;   He got to hold the camera, line up his shot, and push the button all on his own.

         That's how life is, good days and bad days. The bad days let you appreciate the good ones even more.

   I see people still want fuss and fight here, and insult others whose politcal views are not their own.  Sad really, this has been such a good site with many czring and supportive people.

    I bid you all fairwell, I won't stay were people are insulted for doing their jobs or for expressing their beliefs.  And MUST add Rerun you are the rudest person here!

Chris - no girl scout showed up at my door this year; however, one of the Bingo's I volunteer at usually have the Girls Scouts one or two weeks selling cookies.  If they have some of the lemonaides I'll pick up a couple of boxes for you.

Slywalker, if you find them I'll gladly pay for them and all the shipping charges and materials  :2thumbsup;

Today I got up early at 6, but went back to bed and ended up getting my labs done late. I cameback home home to wait to pick up most of the results later and shoveled heavy snow, so back was killing me. Went inside to find a mess in the kitchen that should not have been left, so I was mad because today was garbage day and this mess could have been picked up instead of making a bigger mess and stink. Plus I hate when food goes to waste, it's a pet peeve I have. Picked up results, came back home to finish cleaning andfinally laid down due to pain in back and knee. Now I wake up with a cough, sore throat, watery eyes, and a stuffed nose, CRUDE!! I have to get up real early for a doc appointment in the city and hate going when I feel like crap and tissues and hand cleaner is not easily accessable.

We're all waiting right beside you   :grouphug;   I hope you can feel our good wishes surrounding you today.  We'll be ready to celebrate, too.

Chris, you just can't catch a break right now.  I'm sorry you woke up with the crud.  No fun.  And I agree about food going to waste.  And about stinky garbage.  Yuk!

Zeke and Paxton are spending the day with me --- so far we have watched Alvin, the Squeakal, we've written thank you notes, snuggled with books.  Lunch is over.  Now what?    :rofl;

The good thing for my grands is I taught 4 & 5 yr olds for 18 years!  We have a very well stocked craft closet.  We got out a box of quilt squares that my Mom cut out before she died.  We spent a lot of time putting together squares to see what pieces looked good together. Another day we will sew them together and make a "crazy quilt" -- any color,pattern mix-matched any way they want it.

They go home in about an hour.  I am grateful for these days.  Some days they'll be too busy to hang out with me.

Waiting to hear Marc's good news  (I am thinking positive!)

They called me during dialysis and told me I was accepted.  I need to drive down there this afternoon and sign some papers and go to the lab.  They said they were going to take some blood to be stored at UCLA for if and when I get a transplant.

That's good news Marc, but to bad they couldn't take the blod while you where at dialysis to avoid being stuck.

Glad you had a good day paris with grandkids.

Made it to the cardiologist and even got the non stop train which made me get into the city early. However when I got there they were calling me back immediately until a hassle came up with insurance, so I didn't get called back till after 10:30 am. He asked me questions, did an ekg (just had one from the doctor downstairs on Feb 9 who told me I needed to see him), and then a short chemical stress test. I passed on all and now cleared for surgery, but need to schedule it tomorrow.On the way back to the train station on the bus another persons guide dog sat beside me keeping my foot and ankle warm. Whoops, dogs giving the attention to the wrong person  :rofl;  but it was nice and made me wish I had a guide dog. I'm sure that will come though. Came home after 5 pm, took socks off before laying down and discovered my right foot is black and blue, yet have no idea what happened to cause it. I will call doc or go to ER tomorrow to see if there are any problems, after I get a hair cut! Always plan ahhead to avoid bed hair if there is a stay :2thumbsup; :rofl;
