Well went to Chicago today and as I expected I wasn't cleared for surery due to being sick. So more labs to be done. Then this idiot doesn't want me to have general anesthisia because it's hard on the heart  :urcrazy;  WTH, where is she getting these ideas I can't handle surgery, I had eye surgery in June and had no problem with  general. She wants them to use epideral and other meds to calm my ass down so I won't move during surgery and supposedly won't remember. If I want general, I have to see a cardiologist :urcrazy; >:(  I had an EMG and was stuck with 8 needles in my back while I was awake and didn't know they were going to do that and I was in pain after that for a few days (they also had to contort my back to zero out the noise). So an epideral for surgery to me is NUTS! cAME HOME AND HAD TO SHOVEL SNOW BEFORE MY DAD GOT HOME WHICH CAUSED MORE PAIN AND i FELL ASLEEP AS SOON AS i SAT DOWN. aLL IN ALL THE SNOW WAS NO BIG DEAL HERE, GOING TO OR FROM THE TRAIN STATION OR THE ROADS DOWNTOWN. hOWEVER i MISSED THE BUS DUE TO TRAIN ARRIVING LATE AND HAD TO TAKE A TAXI WHICH i WASN'T PREPARED FOR IN SPENDNG. hATE IT THAT THEY HAD TO CUT BUS ROUTES IN THE CITY :rant;

Good morning IHD (said in a Robin Williams voice)!  The sun is peeking out here and the wind has died down.  A little more pleasant for feeding hay today than yesterday with wind chill at 4(F).

We are having pretty fluffy snow and all the schools and businesses are closing as a matter of principle!  :rofl;

Not us, though.

Carl met with his vascular surgeon today. Fistulagram scheduled for February 25. He'll have to be at the hospital by 6:00 AM!!! Hoo boy! There may be some narrowing between the venous and arterial areas of his fistula. But even if they have to do the balloon, by going in that early, he may get off without having to spend the night.... Fingers crossed.

That is an off day for dialysis anyway.

And I hope everyone is having a great day!

Chris, how is it going???

Aleta, just came home from the dentist. Now full of novacain due to pain that was hard to control on one side. On top of that, they gave me a discount because I paid that day without insurance and I didn't really want that discount. I eeeded the full bill today so I could help meet my monthly spend down for medicaid. So now I need to refill meds I really don't need because they last so long (I hate wasting products).

I'm tired and don't have much energy, going to bed for awhile and to get warm.

Hang in there Cariad - not too far away now.  What dosage arasnep do you take?  I'll send you one of mine if you like hee hee  - we don't have to tell anyone!  Oh yeah, it mightn't look too good on the customs form.  Could I put secret santa gift???  :rofl;

Chris, could you feel the earthquake this morning?      I hope the rest of your day goes better.  Sorry you are having so much pain and discomfort.    :cuddle;

Bright and sunny here, but with high winds--40to 50 mph all day.  Unfortunately, our ground is so saturated, trees are coming down.  The tall pines just sway, but the hardwoods don't bend - they just get pushed over, huge root ball and all.   Poor D.C. and surrounding areas are getting these winds with lots of snow.   Everyone in the blizzard area, take care.

Yes Paris I felt the earthquake, but it was no big deal because it is not a new feeling here. It just usually happens during daylight and during warmer client. We get earthquakes every 2 to 3 years from either the new  Mandrin fault or that another explosion accurred at either the refinery or storage facilities.

A rather sleepless night last night. Probably stressing too much over Carl's fistulagram.  :o

But have to push through today anyway.  :thumbdown;

Two difficult parent/teacher conferences this afternoon.  :embarassed:

Hope everyone else has a good one.

We lived in St. Louis for a long time and would get the occasional quake.  Same fault that Chicago is over.   Many think quakes are just on the coast.      Hope you day is going better than the past days have been.    Take care of yourself.   :cuddle;

Aleta, we should have talked during the night!  I went to bed at 11, up at 1, played on computer, read some and then saw the sun rise! Heard the school buses and that was the end of trying to go to sleep.  Second night in a row and I feel like a walking zombie.  I hate not sleeping.  So frustrating!   Hope you make it through your day and tonight is better.  If we could only turn our minds off at bedtime!!

     Watch out, I'm in a foul mood and I'm wanting to kick some  :sir ken;

                                                                      :rant;

        First, I'm at dialysis. Hey that's enough to rile up anybody.  Second the ADA bus came late to pick me up to bring me here.  Third, new driver who had a hard getting through his thick head I can't walk up the steps to get in.  He wanted to "help" me, and asked "Have you ever tried?".  I wanted to say, "of course you moron, how do you think I know I can't use steps or stairs?"  Finally, he relents and uses the wheelchair lift, like I told him everyone else does.  Fourth, we take the "senic route" to get here, making me even later.  Fifth  (don't you just love it when people number their complaints?  :rofl; :rofl;) , they take me into the treatment floor as soon as I get here, BUT I have to stand around (standing still hurt my back, a lot) for 20 minutes fore the nurse can be found to evaluate me.  Sitxh, after I finally get to a chair, I have to wait 30 more minutes before I get on the machine..(well, at least the chair is more comportable than those in the waiting room, and I'm sitting).  Seventh, the nurse has tried to add more to take off than the 1.6 kg and .5 kg rinse back. Yeah, like I want to feel even more like crap when my treatment is over  :sarcasm;  Eighth ( Oh, the hits just keep on rolling, if you've ever heard a Top-40 station from the 1960's you'll get that)  I'm having trouble navagating the internet using the center's "terminal" for this chair. Can't get to my email, only shows me IHD pages from FEB 4TH.  Have to "play with it" to get me to a page.  Yes, I know I am darn lucky to be able to get on the internet and come here to bore you all with my petty complaints. Ninth, I've tried to post this three times, and it won't "go through".

      Hope your day is better...  :waving;

Poor thing!

I am so thankful to have those days behind me right now. I used to get so upset that they always hooked me up late when I was always early to arrive. They don't like it if your late because it screws everyone else up... however it don't matter if your hooked up late... cause they can do what they want!

I am still pissed about that. LOL.

i hope your day gets better.  :grouphug;

    On a better note.  Paris is 100% correct. The New Madrid fault produced an earthquake in 1811 which made the Mississippi River run backward for thrre days, and changed it's course. It was felt in Phiadelphia.  The region of Southeast Missouri, Western Tennessee and Kentucky, Southern Illinois, and  Northeastern Arkansas has been expecting another major quake that could devistate the area between St Louis to Memphis.  So what did I do after living most of my life there? Move to a place where they have hurricanes.   :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

  Hello from the Oregon Coast.....

I am learning to live close to the lives of my friends without ever seeing them. No miles of any measurement can separate your soul from mine.

We thought moving here from St. Louis, we would leave bad weather behind.  The first year we were here, we had a major tornado that destroyed homes and shopping center with several losing their life.  In St. Louis we had tornado warning sirens---not here!  Here you just get surprised!  And then the first hurricane that came through, well, that was an eye opener.  I take all hurricane warnings very seriously.   I will say, for 99% of the time, the weather here is marvelous.   And I love living in a southern state.     We have all had an interesting winter, haven't we?

So, I will close by saying I have nothing to say.   Oopps - wrong thread   :rofl;    I win!!    :2thumbsup;
