Caregiver to Husband with ESRD.
1995 - Diagnosed with vesicoureteral reflux and had surgery to repair at age 11. Post surgery left side still had Stage I VUR, right side was okay. Both sides were underdeveloped.
2005 - Discovered renal function was declining, causing HBP. Regular monitoring began.
March 2008 - Started transplant evaluation for preemptive transplant due to declining function.
September 16, 2008 - Transplanted with my kidney.
September 18, 2008 - Kidney was removed due to thrombosis in the vessels in and leading to the kidney.
October 2008 - Listed in Region I
May 2009 - Started in Center Hemo
January 2010 - Started CCPD on Liberty Cycler
June 15, 2012 - Kidney transplant from a 43 year old deceased donor
June 22, 2012 - Major acute rejection episode and hospitalization began
June 27, 2012 - Nephrectomy to remove kidney after complete HLA antibody rejection. Possibly not eligible for another transplant, ever again.
Now what?

granted! Everything stops. Completely stops. You have no where to go, no one to take care of, no job to report to. But you're completely without purpose and people in your life.
I wish I could run a 5K!

granted, but it turns out the only 5k that is being run in the next 10 years is through the Sahara...

Granted but they all work evenings while you work days. They love coming to your house after they get off work and waking you up!

Granted! But the plumbing was installed incorrectly and anything flushed in bathroom number one shows up in bathroom number two. eewww
I wish this cold I have would be gone!

September 2008 - Large Reconstruction, bladder augmented, stoma placed and ureters fixed
September 2010 - Needed emergency hip surgery for Slipped Capital Femoral Epithysis
September 2010 - Started Dialysis without refusal (Big mistake)
Summer/Fall 2011 - "Inactivated" on the Inactive Transplant List
October 2012 - Activated on the transplant list
November 30th, 2012 - Surgeons threatening to not to a transplant based on weight
April 25th, 2013 - Lost 25 pounds (97kg), however developed highly resistant bladder bacteria, Inactivated from list until eradicated
May 15th, 2013 - Finally cleared of the bacteria, reactivating on list imminent.
May 24th, 2013 - Reactivated on the list!
June 8th, 2013 - Transplant!
June 19th, 2013 - Dialysis Catheter officially removed and returned home from the hospital!
June 21st, 2016 - Sleeve Gastrectomy
March 11th, 2019 - Revision to Gastric Bypass
