Well thanks.  I try not to worry to much but you have to admit that this is a fairly common fear in most people, even if they are trying not to think about it.  I love you to Angie.

I think everyone is afraid of something. I mean, I never thought of myself as afraid of anything because I am not afraid of spiders and kill them for my mom and I have held a turantula spider before (a pet of a neighbour) and I held some kind of lizard before. Also since I can't swim you would think I would never get into a 13 foot pool but I did. Maybe I am just insane :P But after thinking long and hard I am actually afraid of quiet a few things! :-[ I keep adding on more ... I am also afraid of choking on huge pills like Renagel ..

Get out the shovels, quick!   We be needin' help soon!

But, seriously, I am afraid of June Bugs.  Nasty little critters. My daughter thinks they are pretty bugs and will pick them up and put them outside.  I cannot stand them when they whirrr past my head.  Yucky!  I always made my daughter get the bug out of the room.  She would pick it up barehanded and walk by me to make sure I saw how pretty it was.  I just quaked in my shoes. And this is the daughter who is deathly afraid of spiders. (I shall have to mail her a rubber tarantula!)

You guys are to funny.... LOL
The UNKNOWN  ya know is like ummm unknown, and anything is possible, specially if you have a great imagination.. Like just watch the "EXORCIST" and have nightmares, and then you think your awake then ya say to yourself."no I am asleep, this is a nightmare." then something happens and poof you are frozen can't move. try to wake up and its a no go.. And when ya finally do wake up it is with a jump and your in a cold sweat. and you are afraid to go back to sleep cuz the nightmare was so scary?  (gosh hope you understand that) lol  Now was that real or not? could it have been?  You just don't know.....

People in general fear what they do not understand or know.  This is not true in all cases, but in most.

Give me snakes and spiders and yes, even clowns anyday...but don't even mention the creepy little gray rodents ~ managed to keep that little secret from my children until they were older and we were renting a farmhouse very near a cornfiels.  The 'cat was out of the bag' so to speak, when they heard me shriek in an upstairs bedroom and found me standing on the bed... They had never witnessed their mother in such a position or state and I was not proud!  I do know that they won't harm me, are just as scared of me as I of them, but the durn things are just so bloomin' FAST!  EEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!

I remember my old cat use to bring me the mice he caught to show me what he found.  Funny part was, they were still alive and kicking when he showed them to me.  And to prove it was a real mouse and not a toy, he would let them go and they get up and try to run away.  And as his reward, ( here is the gross part ) would kill it and eat half of it right in front of me, leaving the rest of it for me to dispose of.  Mice and rats don't bother me at all.  At least not until the corpses begin to rot and stink. :P

ewwwwww!!!

I remember the whole reason I applied for subsidized housing when I had to go on PD was because I remember living in one apartment building where there were mice and cockroaches (I can't afford nice places) and we had these moucetraps that would catch them live and my roommate would shake the trap and dispose of the mouse into the toilet  :o

We had such a bad mice problem that one night I woke up to find William sitting infront of the stove with a bb-gun cuz the mice were keeping him up at night in the stove.  :-[

You know, this fear of clowns and mascots thing i have seems to be getting worse.  We were invited to my nieces birthday and when i read the invitation and it said there is going to be a clown there i almost started hyperventilating (weird huh)  Needless to say, the party was today and i did not go for that reason.  Why would i go and put myself through such anxiety and discomfort when i can be at home, safe and sound and with all of you posting away ;)   Can anyone give me ANY reason why people are afraid of clowns, i know it is very common, and it wasnt like i was afraid of them when i was younger cuz they didnt bother me at all, just as i got older, i guess i got wiser  :P
