Hi, JP,

So glad to read this good news!

Les is also considering PD- but after just
beginning to use his new fistula, and with
everything else going on with my Mom here,
we put off thinking about it for a while.
Anyway, glad to see this good news for you!

Life's a bitch and then you go on dialysis!

Joe for some reason I've completely missed this thread. I hope everything goes OK. Are you going to be doing cycler or CAPD?. I get the impression that in the USA you have to train for CAPD first and then graduate to the cyler. Tell them balls to all that, get straight on the cycler. In England we have the choice right from the start and I did both cycler and capd training in the same week long training session and then went straight on to the cycler at home.

Ken, the reason for manual training is in-case of power failure. This will be one month, and, after the results of the first blood test I will graduate to the cycler, (provided, I'm told, the pd is working well). I have had 2 successful flushes, and the nurse says it is looking good. Due to a recent rush at our clinic for people switching to pd, my training wont start until the end of this month. There is a chance for being bumped up the training list, as another patient is having problems with his cath. Depending on how he works out, I could start a week from this coming Monday. I will post again, once I know exactly what is what. Either way, it wont be long now and I am excited!

Hope things go smoothly JP. Are you flying those planes yet? I noticed it has been near 70 degrees near your area.

Not flying yet, waiting to see how much of my "hanger" area will go for PD supplies. I should get those sometime during the next week. This  works out though, as even though it has been warm enough to fly, winds have been an issue.

Joe Paul, I am so glad the PD is working out.  I would love to hear all about it and how you are feeling.  Have you noticed any differences yet?   How are your numbers?   Lots of questions--sorry!  Good to read your post!! :2thumbsup;
