Gemma - the tucker monster

« Reply #126 on: December 28, 2008, 06:39:03 PM »

Just a quick update on the two dogs that found their way to me.
Firstly - having them at home has really stopped me from crying about the loss of ol dear Gemma.
They spent two days and two nights with me = we all slept on the couch both nights!!
The two "girls" also slept on Gemma's inside and outside beds (I knew they were comfy and the two girls did too)
I had so much dog food in the cupboard so the girls got three meals a day
Their owner Mum saw the website (gotta love technology) and phoned me - wow she was so happy to see her girls and the girls were so happy to see their Mum
We spend about an hour together the four of us and exchanged phone no's so when I am ready to get a new dog we can all  have a play day.
Their Mum spoils them rotton just like I did to Gemma so their Mum was very grateful
Now the house is so quiet.  I go to the loo and shower and no one is looking at me with those beautiful brown eyes.  I swear I have heard Gemma snoring and walking through the door so many times.  I still miss her terribly.   ::) :'( :'( :'(

Sorry to read of the loss of furry family members.  We have all been there and felt the pain.  Meet Rex, my 4 yr old boxer that I rescued 2 years ago...and YES it was definitely a rescue.  When I got my lil man he weighed 30 lbs....now he weighs 90.  He was starved, beaten and totally neglected.  Now he sleeps on whichever piece of furniture he chooses, eats what his momma eats and lives the good life.
He shows unyielding devotion and after my transplant didn't even request a wrestling match.  They can tell when we aren't quite right.  He even tries to reward me whenever he can...last week he carted a possum through the doggie door!! YIKES! He IS my support system!

A possum!  Holy yikes!  Our cat has brought in mice and leaves, but never the dog with a possum!

STEAL HENRY!!!... Over my wife's deed body!!  :Kit n Stik;

Henry is the 2nd Tibetan Spaniel we've had... George was 14 years old before a car unfortunately got the better of him.

They are a great breed of dog and have a great temperament, I would recommend them to anyone .

no more serenading me when I drive the van into the cul - de -sac
no more neighbors stopping by to get their pet's empty feed bowls
no more sad begging eyes
no more sneaking under my bed with your big butt hanging out -- thinking we can not see you
no more friends calling to say you "broke" into their houses and you would be coming home soon
no more running down the drive way if anyone is carrying a water hose and a towel
no more watching you drink from the pool, while laughing and hoping you fall in
no more food and water scattered over the kitchen tile - so you do not get your long ears wet
no more finding headless snake bodies in our yard
no more Sad Sack
