Well, the wait begins. We took Willie at 8 this morning and the surgery is suppose to be afternoon early. It is so heartbreaking to leave him there with this scared look in his eyes. It is pouring down rain here and when we got home, Winnie was soaked, she went out the dogie door and stayed out the entire time we were gone. Oh Lord, the quilt. We will be sitting on pins and needles this afternoon. Please keep the prayers coming for our little furbaby.  |

4:45, finally the Dr. called. Willie was waking up and moving around. He said the mass was very large and he had to put a drain in. He did a nerve block and was hopeful that Willie will have a peaceful night. He told me to stop and pick up a baby onies tomorrow before we come get Willie, that is the best thing to keep him from messing with the incision and the drain. I would of never thought of that. He told me to call about 9 tonight and the duty doctor will give me a update. I think Len is finally breathing again. Len has carried Winnie around most of the afternoon. We are taking her after dinner to see Christmas lights. These pets of ours are so spoiled. Thank you all for the prayers for our Willie and the rest of the family. I believe in the power of prayer. |

11/17/09 After 4 years on dialysis, Rob received a kidney from our George. Kidney is working great! YEAH!!!!

My poor Pebbles got attacked by my friend's cat right in the kitchen! The cat had been stalking her for hours and finally got the chance and pounced. It clawed her on the head and back. Poor Pebbles was traumatized. She is so scared of everyone and everything and she has a reason. I have to take her to the vet today because the one on her back is hot and swelling up.  (When no one was looking I kicked the damn cat) |

How awful Rerun. Poor Pebbles. Cat scratches and bites are among the worst too, they get infected very easily so it's a good idea to see the vet. I hope she gets better soon and no more holiday traumas. |

(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr. 2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

The scratch had an abscess and she had to have a spot shaved so he could get the infection out, she got a shot and I had her nails trimmed and her anal glands expressed. $130 later we were out the door. I have to squeeze the spot 3 times a day and wipe it with peroxide and give her an antibiotic twice a day. Poor baby!
Bottom line if your dog gets scratched by a cat the vet told me if it breaks the skin get it to the vet for an antibotic and for it to be cleaned.

My sister has a cat also, but it is really not hers it is her daughters who lives next door. I told her I could not come out if the cat was in the house because it too likes to stalk Pebbles. They know Pebbles is scared and they think "Let the games begin". My sister said the cat could stay in the garage. So in answer to your question. Yes.

Thanks Monrein, but I think we are good. She is eating, drinking and running around. I grab her about 3 times a day and take a look at the spot and try and squeeze it and then pour Peroxide over it. The she gets a treat. It seems fine. Thanks again.
