I am happy to say that my hubby and I are scheduled for transplant on February 18th. I am beyond excited!  Unfortunately, I am not allowed to keep my catheter and had to use my graft today. It was not pleasant. Tomorrow I get to try to self-cannulate.  I am a nervous wreck about it. Nothing ever comes easy for me, but I was hoping these last 5 weeks would be uneventful. Guess we will see how it goes tomorrow. The good news is I only have 25 more treatments (not that I am counting)!  I am going to stop being a baby about the arm and be thankful for this wonderful gift. I know I am blessed to have only done 1 year of D.  Hope my next post is asking to be put on the list of people who have received transplants! Thank you all for the help and support over this last year. You have all been so kind to me!  I truly appreciate it!   :bow;

I feel your excitement !!! My hubby has an appt. with a specialist today, a stress test next week, then a hernia repair, then if he gets through those hurdles, the transplant will be scheduled !! All of the appts. and surgery in a large transplant hospital 100 miles away from home. Since we live in Minnesota, I am hoping for good weather, as well. Like I said, I feel your excitement and this is why. It is such a long road to get to this point. So happy for you !!!!

Hang in there and never give up. My husband had to lose 40 pounds, and repeat multiple tests over 6 months before finally being accepted to donate. I was ready to quit, but he kept on trying. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hurray for awesome husbands! Keep us posted on your progress!
