Hey, haven't seen any new projects from Adam lately. And Joe Paul - any new planes?
I went through this whole thread again - quite a talented group!  :bow;
I have built a few new ships in the last few months. I'll dig out the camera and take some pics.

Ok, here are my latest.

Here is the U.S.S Ronald Reagan, a Nimitz class nuclear powered aircraft carrier. This ship can last for 15 YEARS before she needs refueling! The model is about 85% complete.

Here's the S.M.S. Emden, a German light cruiser which entered service in 1910 and was destroyed by the Australian cruiser HMAS Sydney in 1914. Emden was basically pounded into scrap metal by Sydney, and her crew intentionally beached the ship to keep her from sinking. Later the hulk was cut up and sold for scrap.

These two ships fought each other in the most "one-sided" battleship confrontation in history. This was the Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese war of 1905, in which the Japanese annihilated the Russian Baltic Fleet which had sailed 19,000 miles to engage the Japanese in the Far East. The first ship is the Russian battleship Borodino, which was sunk at Tsushima with only one survivor. The second is the Japanese battleship Mikasa, which is currently on display in Yokosuka, Japan. Sorry about the crappy quality of Borodino's picture. The black colour made lighting a little difficult.

Last but not least is IJN Yukikaze, one of the few Japanese destroyers to survive WWII. After the Japanese surrender, Yukikaze was stripped of all her armament, and was used to repatriate Japanese ex-soldiers and civilians from the former Pacific empire. She was then transferred to the Taiwanese navy, and was used until 1971 when she was damaged by a typhoon. Because of her age (built in 1939), it was decided to scrap her rather than have her repaired.

Sleeping is highly overrated. I've now started working on the light aircraft carrier U.S.S. San Jacinto, which was the carrier that George H W Bush flew off of during the war.

Nice work Adam  :thumbup;   My project has to wait, as I have ordered "hinge points" for all the control surfaces. Being it is so large, 1/4 scale, I decided I would give these a try, I want this plane to be around for a while to come. (p.s.) Hinge points are what connect the ailerons, flaps, elevator and rudder to the main components of the Aircraft.

Nice looking plane. I have a small crappy RC helicopter but I'm not very good at flying it. A long time ago I had one of those "control line" airplanes powered by a small gas engine. For those that don't know what a control line plane is, it's a model plane that connects by string to a hand controller and flies around you as you spin around in circles holding the controller. Not a good model plane to fly if you get dizzy too easily. Is that plane gas or electric?

Here are some photos of five of my orchids that are currently blooming again for me.  My other two are sending up their bloom stalks, two each, but it will be a month or so I think till they actually bloom.  I usually get two blooming periods a year and they last up to two months each.

I got the hinge points I was waiting for, so I unpacked the wing and ailerons to start assembly. One of the ailerons turned out to be crushed on the end.(long piece behind the engine in the picture) I have been in contact with the manufacturer, they told me I have to send the complete wing set back to them, in turn, they will send a new wing set back.  Another 2-3 week delay  :banghead;  Ive decided to make the plane as scale as possible, so in the picture you can see the supplied landing gear (the wire with the loop and wheel pant) , then the scale gear I found on line. Also pictured is the engine, its a 26 cc gas engine. That engine is built specifically for planes, but for comparison, is similar to the engine some of you may have, in your gas weed whackers.

Geez, and I have trouble keeping my peace lily alive.  If it didn't droop visibly when it needs water, it'd would have been dead ages ago.  Nice to see what someone with a green thumb can do!

Here are my newest motorcycle models. First is a 1/18th scale 1909 Harley Davidson V-twin (the very first Harley that used a V-twin engine)

Oh, and sorry about the crappy pics. My $350 camera equipped phone takes terrible pics compared to my second hand $100 Kodak.

Yes Monsterman, thats a Hanger 9. I am converting over to a 2.4 Spektrum on the radio system, as you probably know, its going to be nice to go to the field, and not have to worry about someone else being on my channel and shooting down my planes.

Something a little different. This is a free paper kit of the World Trade Center complex that I downloaded from the internet and printed. It's my first attempt at a paper model, and it's not quite done yet. I still have to add three more buildings. I'm doing this one as practice, and when I'm confident enough with paper structure models, there is another WTC kit available (also free) that is bigger and looks a lot better.

Haven't been to this thread for a while.

Since I am feeling so well these days, I am filling my time with going out to see bands a lot more. Like I used to when younger. Mostly metal bands.

The local shows are hit and miss, but I get super-psyched when international bands I've loved for years are touring. We've got quite a few coming up (e.g. Kreator who I haven't seen before and can't wait, and then Slayer/Megadeth on the same bill - who'da thunk it?, and plenty more to follow) and tickets are costing me a fortune. Well worth it though.

The rest of my spare time is taken up with cooking. I like cooking.
