3 Good Things That Happened To Me Today.

This is a idea I got from a friend. Basically, list three good things that happened to you today.

No matter how miniscule or "insignificant", little good things are better than just NOTHING good at all. 

In example, I will go first:

1. I had a lovely lunch with my parents. We had Thai, which is my favorite!

2. Got to spend some time with my girlfriend and that always makes me really happy.

3. After freezing weather and speculation, it finally snowed in Boston today! Which I dislike, but it means boyfriend and I once again get to have snowed in snow buddy days filled with cuddles,tea and netflix! ^__^

I love this idea! In fact, I know that focusing on positives really improves outlook.

Since it is early in the day for me today, I'll post about yesterday!

I had three awesome things happen. We found and purchased our DREAM travel trailer! It will be delivered to us all the way from Florida! 

I cooked a large pot of yummy chicken soup that will last us for several days. No cooking tonight!!!!! 

I had a lovely chat with my super son-in-law! My daughter certainly made a good choice! 

And I'm looking forward to another great day today!

The 3 good things that happened yesterday for me were:

1.  I felt good after going for a 40 min walk in -25 degree weather. 
2.  I ended up putting my own dialysis needles in without a bloody mess. 
3. I had a great day over all.. no stress.

1. I didn't have to go to work.
2. I had a nap with my Dora-pussy (cat).
3. I cooked a fabulous dinner in the slow cooker (pork and veggies.)

1.  My new dishwasher was delivered yesterday, and today I have been admiring it.  In my old dishwasher, the plastic coating on the tines had worn away, and the tines themselves were rusting, so it was time for a new one.  It's lovely!

2.  My husband is cooking tonight.

3.  A new episode of "New Girl" is on tonight, and the season premiere of "Justified" is on tonight, too.

1) I woke up to Andy's face this morning to kiss him goodbye
2) I got to greet him at the door after work and kiss him hello
3) I get to spoon with Andy tonight and kiss him goodnight

It's ALWAYS a good day in this house, no matter what.

We found and purchased our DREAM travel trailer! It will be delivered to us all the way from Florida! 

YAY! Which is your dream trailer? We were full-time RVers for six-and-a-half years. We lived in a Prowler fifth wheel but our dream RV was a 35' Excel by Peterson.

I did a housecleaning job for a neighbor and made some extra money. The sun broke out of our dismal day for 10 minutes and cheered me up, I had lots of energy, I de-cluttered some house things so my mind feels a little less clutter free too. Oh, I could go on and on. Today iI had a great day!

1. Got up and didn't feel as icky and anxious about my day. Because my friend posted a My Little Pony and that really cheered me up.

2. Meeting my friend up for a cup of tea at starbucks.

3. Boyfriend coming over tonight to take me to my appointment and to rub my neck because I've been having some awful knots in my muscle.

1. I watched all my favorite shows in the early morning before work! (New Girl, TeenMom 2, & Glee)

2. Aaron drove me to work

3. One of my dialysis kiddos ask me to drive him to a college visit tomorrow!

DD, we saw an Earthbound in 2010, but couldn't afford it and didn't need it at the time. We vowed to be on the look out for a used model. Then for the 2012 models Earthbound decided to go all out and sell models that STARTED at $100,000!!!! No way would we ever be able to afford that!!!! But a used 2011 showed up with the floor plan that we wanted. It sold new for $60K!! Of course we did not pay nearly that much. LOL! You can see what we got at earthbound.com. Our model is the Golden Ridge. I can hardly wait for it to be delivered...sometime next week!

Now...on to my three good things.

1. An old friend is interested in buying our little camper.

2. We did not have any rain today....even though is was quite chilly outside.

3. We did not have to stay at work late today.

 

Yep. a GOOD day indeed!

1. Carl had his 1-year post transplant check-up. He nailed all the labs and his doctor said, "That's one pumping kidney."

2. Our new travel trailer was delivered. (pictures attached!)

3. We had a parent/teacher conference with the parents of a student who has been VERY difficult. It went well and the student has responded quite positively!

Nothing good yet today (several bad but that's a different thread     ) so I'll go with yesterday.  1) Good treatment at D.  2) Got laundry done.  3) Got a check in the mail (a real check, not a scam) Hope today starts going better than it has started out!

1. Benedict Cumberbatch made me a picnic lunch.
2. Benedict Cumberbatch took me on a Sherlock adventure.
3. Benedict Cumberbatch admitted he wanted to be my boyfriend.

(It wasn't a dream ... it wasn't! *stamps feet* in annoyance at Blokey arriving home from work and thus waking me up from the most delicious afternoon nap.)

Oh, funny, Poppy!

1. We stayed late at school and I got caught up with several things.

2. I had a "heat and eat" dinner ready for me when we got home.

3. We have gone two days without rain! 

Drum roll please...... AND it is Friday so I have the whole weekend ahead of me.

From this weekend:

1.  We found REAL PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS!  Real ones! I gave up on finding cheesesteaks out here YEARS ago.  Not only that, but the place also has REAL Philly pretzels (they truck them out from Philly once a month) and Tastykakes!!  I've died and gone to heaven. I guess you really need to be from Philly to understand what a big deal this is!

2.  Andy did the dishes ALL weekend!  (Here's a picture of three trivets in my kitchen; the bottom one is my favorite but the middle one is the truest!)

3.  There's an antique bed on Craigslist I've been keeping my eye on for almost a year-and-a-half. The guy listed it a half-dozen times - dropping the price each time - and it would occasionally disappear so I thought it was sold. Well, it re-appeared this weekend at the maximum price I was willing to spend for it! It was custom made - hand-carved - in 1918 of solid oak and weighs about 500 pounds. We are making side rails for it now and will have it set up by tonight!  This thing is absolutely gorgeous and one-of-a-kind and I never thought I'd see it in my own bedroom.

Oh, I so understand about the bed! That is the way I felt about our dream trailer!!!!

My good things....

1. I was able to go to the gym and work out today. It was the first time since I injured my shoulders in October! 

2. It did NOT rain today! I'm a bit weary of rain. Can you tell?

3. We had left over pot roast and vegetables so I didn't have to cook. You might say that I'm a half fast cook.

I am still soooo sick, but here it is:

1. After much discussion with the boys, we decided they should go to school, so I got them out the door and to their classes on time. At school, a little girl walked up to Elliot and said 'Can I tell you something? We get to go through a hole in the door!!!' It is their Hundredth Day of School today, so the teacher had taped a big 100 sign across the door and cut out the first zero so that they could crawl through. Liot was so excited, when I reminded him to have the front office ring me if he felt sick at all, he replied "Oh!!! It's our hundredth day of school! I can't be sick today!'

2. I came home to a message from the woman who hit my car, so at least it looks like she is not attempting to avoid me.

3. I haven't been able to eat much and I woke up dizzy with that familiar hyponatremia (dangerously low sodium) feeling. I managed to make myself a veggie bacon sandwich on toast and I feel a bit better for having eaten that.

I'll do my best, but the bed takes up the ENTIRE bedroom so it really can't be appreciated nor can I take a pic of the whole thing at once!

I hope you feel better soon, and I'm glad the woman who hit your car finally got back to you!

BEAUTIFUL bed!!!!

No wonder you are excited! 

Three good things today:

1. My dad will be released from the hospital on Monday with no ill effects from the visit to the ER.

2. It's Friday....that is always good for something! 

3. Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I have bought all the Valentines for my students already....no last minute scrambling.

That bed's a stunner, DD. I would be over the moon, too.

1. Cleared snow with my boys yesterday and came inside feeling all accomplished. Made them hot cocoa and myself a cup of tea.
2. Made real breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast this morning - none of their usual cold cereal.
3. Attended Aidan's basketball game and made it through the whole match. The kids on the opposition were huge, and when they were warming up, they were not missing a single shot. I took one look at them and tensed up for the entire hour. Plus, our side of the bleachers was full so I had to sit with the opposing team's families. There were 4 gigantic men in the corner shouting the entire time, I was almost afraid to cheer for my boy's team. (Almost. I am nothing if not vocal. Our families are extremely quiet and well-mannered, so I even feel obnoxious cheering when I am sitting with them.) Anyhow, these men in the corner, parents or relatives or something, were just horrible. They would make noise when our kids were taking free throw shots (I've never seen parents do that before) and were criticizing our kids very loudly. I was getting nervous that there was going to be violence since these parents were such poor examples for their boys. My Aidan is one of the smallest kids out there, but what a fighter. He was playing right in front of me at one point, other team had the ball, and I shouted "Aidan, you get that ball away from him" and the boy did exactly that. No shots on the basket this game for him, but in a hard-fought game, his team prevailed 16-6. Aidan's team only needs to win one more game of the regular season and they will be undefeated. Then they go into the single-elimination playoffs. I cannot believe what phenomenal players some of his teammates are. And excellent sports. No gloating, no attempts to cheat, just amazing, dignified athletes at such a young age.

1. Aidan's basketball team made school history winning their game this morning: undefeated in both the regular season and the playoffs.

2. I got to watch Aidan play soccer. You just cannot believe what that little guy can do on a pitch. I only watched the first half because it's so unfair to Liot dragging him from one of Aidan's events to the next, but he scored while was there. I also watched in amazement as the ball come to him at about waist-high, he leapt up in the air, got the ball under control with his feet, then zipped past the opposing team and made a perfect pass to his friend who was all set up at goal. He's a mid-fielder, exactly where Gwyn thinks he belongs.
 
3. Aidan received 3 NBA basketball tickets from his coach this morning, but we cannot use them because we will be on a plane. So, I was able to give them to his best friend's mother (she was a basketball player herself and simply adores the game.) This was great because they are people who never, never let us do anything for them without feeling compelled to pay us back in some way-too-lavish manner. Trust me, this is much more annoying than it sounds!

Aidan sounds like one natural talent! And I hope for your that your son's best friends mother will not annoy you too much after giving that ticket.

But my good 3 things are
1. Felt okay this morning
2. The sun was out, and not too cold
3. The kitchen might be usable again after Wednesday, so I don't have to go up the stairs to wash the dishes in the bathroom, get water for coffee upstairs etc. Wonderfull

So my "big three"

1)  Finally and officially gave up re-habbing the house, just hired someone to paint two rooms and a hallway (more like, finish what I started)   It took me three hours in 3 weekends just to scrap off the paint, ended up exhuausted most times, left side where kidney normally aches, so I am happy and more importantly, mama's happy! (seem to tire way more quickly, but thats for another thread)

2)  Saltwater fish I just accidentally sucked up into the water change hose looks ok, no worse off for the wear!  Shaken, but not stirred, or no Sushi tonight   

3)  Going to dinner with mama's cousin and her husband, (nice peeps) Islamorada Fish Co. (Bolingbrook, IL)
