As the Falcons set to try the winning field goal attempt, Carroll called time out -- and watched as Bryant missed the field goal just to the right of the goalpost. Because the try was iced, the miss didn't count, and Bryant got another shot. He made that one, of course, and the Falcons advanced to the NFC Championship round with a 30-28.
That's a "whoops" on Coach Carroll, for sure.

I have been listening/watching quite a lot of the post game analyses on different channels, and not once have I heard any criticism of this horrific move by Carroll.  I'll have to find the online edition of the Seattle newspaper and see what they're saying.  I was rooting for the Seahawks all the way, but when this fool tried to ice the kicker, well, I couldn't believe it.  I hope this ends this terrible habit of coaches pulling this stunt.  It's just so stupid.

My skin isn't thick enough for this thread really, but I'm just going to jump in every once in a while and say "Go Pats!" anyway. I've moved from MA to NY now and I'm not getting any better at rolling with the sneers but it won't change my mind.

It is okay to be a Cheatriots fan.  You must be very happy that the Giants did not make the playoffs.  IF Bill Belicheat does get his team to the big show at least he will at least have a chance!

I love the NFL and especially the Denver Broncos. My first picture, is of my mom's pregnant tummy painted orange for a game in 1969 before I was born. When we lived in Colorado I loved going to the games. When I was young I actually got scared by the rocking of the old Mile High Stadium. I never miss a game on TV.  It must be genetic cause my daughter is as much a fan as I am. We love to watch together. This year was her first year managing a fantasy football team and she won our family and friends league of 16 teams.

We are a bit bummed about the Broncos losing to the Ravens but it was a good game. The team did better this year than we expected.

I actually growled at the nurse who tried to ask me to take my Broncos jersey off this past Saturday....My wife intervened so there were no casualties...

And don't forget about the man slut who is QB.  LOL!

It's ok, SookMK...we'll try to be nice. :rofl;  It must be hard to be a Pats fan in NY!  The NFC championship game will be great fun!  Can't wait!

Oh, that was the most exciting game!!  It was such a shame that either team had to lose.  Peyton Manning is a godsend to the Broncos.  I'm not sure that Tim Tebow will be able to cut it in the NFL.  Let's see what he does in J'ville.  He might be brilliant for all we know.

Well, my Niners did it! Now if Baltimore can win, we'll have a Harbaugh bros. match-up! Of course, the 49ers will win! San Francisco needs a dual Championship this year!   :cheer:

Oh boy, was I glad to see Manslut Brady crash and burn.

However, I am not sure I can stomach two weeks of blather about the "Harbowl".   ::)

Not too thrilled that "Har-bowl" is being used to death, either!   :rofl;
But I am glad about the match up for this year.

IDK...I kind of think that the fact that the 2 coaches are brothers is cool.  I, of course have always wanted a Manning brothers Super Bowl.

I will be cheering for the 49ers.  I like their QB and the NY Giants 1 Superbowl loss was to the Ravens.  They completely embarrassed the Giants.

It's Super Sunday!  I hope everyone enjoys the game!  It had better be a good one because if it's not, I'm going to have to turn the channel to Downton Abbey.   :P

A friend of mine just called to see if I had plans for Super Bowl Sunday.  I didn't even know it was today.  And I didn't know who was playing, either.  I do remember reading an article about the coaches' parents, since the coaches are brothers, but that's the only thing I remember!

Wait a minute, it's today?! :waiting;

Guess it's sort of fitting that my kids spent the morning playing in this:

Maybe, but it's a cozy rock with lots of other things to do under it!   :rofl;

I don't watch TV, so I don't see the ads.  I rarely do more with my newspaper's Sports page than dump it in the recycle bin if I don't need a paint drop cloth for a craft project.  I knew it was coming up, because of the snack idea endcaps at the grocery store, but had no idea what day it was.

That was a good game.  Very exciting.  That safety knocked me out of winning the final score in the football pool!

It was the best result for Harbaugh pere et mere.  Neither son was blown out.

That game pretty much had it all!

OKAY!!! Here we go.  The New York Giants are picking 19th.  I can't wait for Thursday when the draft starts.  Since they released Bradshaw I am wondering if they will go for a RB???

I truly believe the Giants will be in the mix this year.  They need to tweak a few things, but are basically a real solid team.  Im partial to them because of the Manning brothers. Ely is a better QB than his brother, but his line is getting better in the protection field.

I sure hope my Titans show up this year.  Can't afford another year like last year!

GO TITANS!!!!!!

My Niners got robbed... It was overtly clear that the NFL wanted "Killin' Ray Lewis" to go out on top. How do you call it a fumble when the guys facemask is being ripped off. Id drop the ball too if you twisted my head around. Though Harbaughs call to kick a field goal at the end of the half in the redzone didnt help matters. That's ok. We will be MUCH better next year.

There was some non-calls that went the other way.  The officials seem to suck more and more.
