The only other IHD member that I've "met" personally is Phurball, because she is my grandmother. (She doesn't post much here, though).

Awesome!

Hey, Chris, do you know anything about The Metro venue in Chicago? THE band from Wales, the Manic Street Preachers, will be there October 1 and my husband so wants to go and support his countrymen. They are not a very well known group outside of the US, but in Wales only Tom Jones can compete in popularity (and they appeal to two entirely different crowds). I am trying to decide if it is worth the effort and hassle to get babysitters and head down for an evening. I worry about having to stand all night, too. Any seats there at all, or is it just an open ballroom style?

 :thx;

None unfortunately but I did have a telephone conversation with our much loved and an sadly missed Goofynina and also OKarol.

It was so funny when I first phoned Susie (Goofynina) she obviously couldn't understand my northern english accent and I think she thought it was a wierdo phone call because she hung up. So I redialed and put on my best Queen's English accent and then she understood.

We spent most of the brief phone call laughing at the misunderstanding. I'm so pleased that I got to meet her at least verbally. And Karol it was great talking to you also. I do so wish I could meet more people on this forum.

I'll look into it at the train station on Monday when I go to Northwester. I'll be going to Chicago each week this month starting Monday and there is usually something posted about what's going on downtown. The stuff I had I sent to kitkatz and didn't keep spares of 2009 events.
