I don't have dreams about flying, but I sometimes have happy dreams about running incredibly fast with no effort, and they are very invigorating.  I can feel the wind on my face, and my hair flowing out behind me (like it did when I really was young and could run, and had long hair).  I can be running down stairs, or on the level, and I don't feel my feet moving, but I'm definitely running, going so fast I would really be in trouble if I stumbled, but I know for certain that I will not.

I am disabled due to a spinal problem, and can't run (although if the building catches on fire, I definitely won't be the last one out!), and it hurts to walk.  I  love these running dreams.  They don't happen very often, but I can remember them all, and they're truly healing.

I have had the same dream for many years. I think it may have allot to do with my past when i was little. I dream about this house it's usually in the woods and usually on stilts. I can't go in the house through the door the reason is unknown. I go in the house under it through a trap door. The house is dark and only has light from gas lights on the wall. As i pass through the hallways people are stuck in the walls i can see them but just their eyes. I am by myself but my heart is racing. i know why i am here and i know that it is going to scare me. I keep thinking i am going see it's face this time. I go into a bedroom and am sleeping on a very old bed it is a matress filled with down it has blue pin stripes down it. I can sense he is out there and wants to come in. i shout out and say let me see your face. I shout and shout and try and focus on a face. No one appears but i know he is there. I hav'nt had this one in some time.

I had the strangest dream last night.  Rob, myself and some other person were doing this historic dialysis treasure hunt.  Yeah, I know, very strange.

I always have the strangest dreams, I mean whacked out weird ones!

I want to know what were you hunting on a historic dialysis hunt? Blood, needles, old machines?

Since I started dialysis I've been having many more nightmares than before. I have always had vivid dreams almost every night (although I don't always recall them afterwards), but nowadays and especially the three nights a week after my dialysis I have these dark recurring dreams in which I'm always anguished or frustrated and bad things seem to happen to myself and everybody around me. Strangely I have yet to dream about dialysis itself, maybe my subconscious mind is still in denial!

Does anybody else get these nightmares? I really wonder why I get them because my thoughts during the day are never dark and I (almost) never feel depressed or afraid, though obviously I have some measure of apprehension when I think that I could be called upon for a transplant and opened up with a scalpel any day now...

They don't really bother me except that they sometimes affect the quality of my sleep.

Anyway, any thoughts are welcome...

my husband has been complaining of this same thing-dark,dark dreams-sometimes so real he has trouble discerning reality.I am asking his Dr. about it-they are so vivid......

At least for the past week I have been having unusual  disturbing dreams.  I just woke up @ 3am from loading a rifle with what seemed like a hundred rounds, LARGE rounds, and I have never even loaded a rifle before, I had several other guns at my disposal too.  Everytime I close my eyes I am having some dark obscure nightmare that wakes me up.  My sleep has been crap, a couple of hours here and there.  No television or any other distractions/backround stuff going on.

Do you dream?  Do you remember your dreams?

I dream, but usually don't remember them.  But, tonight it woke me up.  I was in the hospital with a new transplant.  The doctor came in and showed me my chart which said that I had died.  I laughed and so did he, but since it was on my chart it was so.  They made me leave.  I requested my medical charts so I could read what happened and where the mistake was made.  The charge nurse, who was my old Postmaster Lady from when I was a kid, would not give me a copy of my chart.  She said it was too much to copy.  So I got really mad and threw a cup of water at her and she was behind the post office window.  She got mad because someone had to clean up the mess.  I left and then I woke up.

Now it is 2:34 in the morning and I'm wide awake and still feel kind of uneasy.   :P

So, come on let's hear some of your dreams.  (Remember Epokid may read these)

The charge nurse, who was my old Postmaster Lady from when I was a kid, would not give me a copy of my chart.  She said it was too much to copy.  So I got really mad and threw a cup of water at her and she was behind the post office window.

ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST? Reminded me of Nurse Kratchet(Sp?)
One of the few books I have read that I liked the movie that followed because it followed the book closely.
My strangest dream was a dream inside a dream.
It was a little personal so I will leave out the details to keep it clean.
I knew I was dreaming and was struggling to wake up. I felt like I weighed about three tons and couldn't move.
Then I thought I had awakened and heard someone call my name from another room in the house, saying it was time to get up to go to work. That was also a dream but it woke me up, really awake this time.

I've been having horrible dreams that someone's trying to kill me. The other morning I was having one of these dreams and I woke up twice (even went to use the bathroom) and both times when I went back to sleep my bad dream would continue.

I wonder about how much meaning dreams have. I've been having dreams of either someone trying to kill me or me and someone shooting at eachother. I look things up in random dream dictionaries, but I'm never quite sure how much I believe them.

Angela I know what you mean about weird ones. I'll wake up the next day and tell one of my friends and it makes her laugh. They're so strange though. It seems like the bad ones are way more vivid than the good ones.

I had a dream early this morning that Vandie and I decided to go skydiving. This is bizarre because I wouldn't skydive even if you held a gun to my head, I am so afraid of heights and falling. But in the dream it was as though I had actually done it before, and I was showing Vandie what to do. We jumped from the plane and we did some incredible free fall stunts. As we neared the earth it became clear to me that we had no parachutes, but didn't faze me a bit, I yelled to her to look for soft dirt to land in, or a grassy area, but at that moment we were being blown into the downtown area with just buildings and concrete. The next thing I knew it was a couple of days later, I was in the hospital and was just fine! They showed me a video of where Vandie and landed in a park and her feet went right through the soft ground to an underground earthen tunnel, breaking her fall - no injuries!! We were both fine and happy we had the experience. This is particularly interesting to me because I rarely ever dream. I am at a beach house for the weekend, sleeping great and hearing the ocean outside is so nice - maybe thats why I had a dream. Not sure if it means anything, but it was fun!

I had a  dream was about a fellow patient who I tried being nice to, but it didn't work out. He has since died, but in my dream we were walking up a hill, he looked at me and said "I'm a Christian, this shouldn't be happenning to me" the road we were on went beside a cemetery, of which the gates were on fire. He walked into the gates and tried to take me with him but I wouldn't go. The gates slammed shut after he went through them, I woke up instantly in a sweat. That dream was so real it was scary.

I had another dream this morning. I am still at the beach so obviously it's allowing me more rest and serenity than I have had in a long time, and I am dreaming like crazy. And I am remembering very minute details. I won't bore you with the whole long description, but one cool thing was that Epoman was in the dream. He was in his office and I came in to talk to him. He was funny, making clever comments and trying to do 10 things at once. He was very alive and seemed intense and content, working away on something. I was distracted from him because I was called to the kitchen (now I was at the IHD Meet-up in an old hotel) and they needed me to decide something..? There was a giant freezer, like one you could put great big ice sculptures in, and apparently the cakes were defrosting. Turns out the 3 huge cakes - one was a man/fish, one was a woman with scales and tentacles, and one was a mermaid, were actually people in costumes painted to look like frosted cakes. The octopus woman jumped up and started chasing people light heartedly, but then focused on me and I ran from the room before she could get me! Crazy huh? Anyway, there's lots more, but the nicest thing was seeing Epoman. I really believe dreams happen for a reason, and it just reminds me that this upcoming get together is all as a result of his effort to build IHD and bring all of us together. The cakes? What do they mean?? Maybe fortelling the future - Las Vegas can be a quirky town!

I have been dreaming more (or at least remembering more) and I think it's because I am sleeping better when I take melatonin occasionally, to help me sleep. And the dreams are more vivid. Of course, if ZI don't retell the or write them down, I soon forget them.
