Going through life tied to a chair!

« on: October 10, 2006, 02:37:05 AM »

Do you dream?  Do you remember your dreams?

I dream, but usually don't remember them.  But, tonight it woke me up.  I was in the hospital with a new transplant.  The doctor came in and showed me my chart which said that I had died.  I laughed and so did he, but since it was on my chart it was so.  They made me leave.  I requested my medical charts so I could read what happened and where the mistake was made.  The charge nurse, who was my old Postmaster Lady from when I was a kid, would not give me a copy of my chart.  She said it was too much to copy.  So I got really mad and threw a cup of water at her and she was behind the post office window.  She got mad because someone had to clean up the mess.  I left and then I woke up.

Now it is 2:34 in the morning and I'm wide awake and still feel kind of uneasy.   :P

So, come on let's hear some of your dreams.  (Remember Epokid may read these)

Old wives tale says when you dream of a death, it means a birth. I love the dreams where I can fly, had one of those last night.

MY Aunt used to read dreams but she died of cancer.

She probably would have said that your dream meant that you really wanted a kidney but felt it was too good to be true if it ever happened and that you (in your subconscious) expect something to go wrong. Also she probably would have said that was not real death in your dream but meant that you don't trust doctors and that it was their screw up and you never died :P

I should be asleep ... I woke up after only a few hours sleep so if I don't make sense blame it on that  ;) :2thumbsup;

That makes sense.  I don't trust doctors and if I do ever die, it will more than likely be a mistake by someone in the medical field.

Someone put ONCE that I was diabetic.  I am NOT diabetic.  It took forever to get that one straightened out. I don't know what happens to a person who doesn't need it......get insulin.

A person who doesnt need insulin, but gets it would go into diabetic shock, even death, depending on the dose of course.

I often have dreams that I can fly...they are so real that when I wake up I really think I can fly if I try hard enough! I dream a lot and remember most of my dreams. Here is a strange dream that I had a couple of months ago....in my dream, it was Halloween and my husband and I were rushing home to decorate the house, make food, and put on our costumes for our annual Halloween party. We were supposed to go as the "Incredibles", but at the last minute my husband changed to something else (I have no idea what) and I went as Angelina Jolie. Here's what my costume was: a long black wig, fake breasts underneath middle eastern type of clothing with dolls attached all over the clothing. Some of the dolls had Brad Pitt faces!
It was SO WEIRD...but I might act actually use it for this year's party if I don't come up with another idea :D

My mom's father came to her in a dream to say good bye. She said it is not like normal dreams but believes that it was actually him saying goodbye.

I thought I posted a dream here...hmmm. must have dreamt I did it.

So hten I have a dream where I am a young girl who ran away from a brutal home, they sent the Nazi troops after me.  In one part of the dream I am caught by the Nazis but escape them by falling off of a truck into a ditch and running into trees and brush.  The other part I manage to free my brother from home and hide out in the wilderness and live off of the land. We are chased and have hide pretty frequently.

Going through life tied to a chair!

« Reply #13 on: October 11, 2006, 04:23:55 PM »

I use to have reoccurring dream of living in my house and all of a sudden finding another room.  One that I had never found before.  I went to a 1 day class on dreams and the lady told me that there was more to my life and that I would be opening another door.

I haven't had that dream for a long time.

I used to have odd dreams as a child. One was a reoccurring one where it was either real loud jet planes or a nuclear attack. Either way I couldn't get the door closed and I knew they could see me. What a dream for a child to have eh?

Another was my dad took a swig of water in the bathroom but didn't know someone put a bar of soap in it and he started choking and out the window I could see my mom just got into a very bad car accident.  Again .. while I was just a kid.

I am glad I don't have bad dreams anymore or at least don't remember. I was a very angry kid who couldn't express myself as all the focus was always on how my health was doing instead of how I was doing as an emotional person...

Another dream I had my little brother had a remote control where he could control the sun and he made multiple suns and the earth was burning up and he thought it was funny. I tried desperately to get the remote control away from him but he would not give it to me so I got mad .. and well .. I won't go into how I took my anger out on him and forced him to give up the remote control. You might think I was a messed up kid when I was younger ..  :-[ :-X

Looking back on my childhood dreams now I realize they ALL had to do with me being out of control of the situation..

Another recurring dream I had as a kid was being in a white box and trying to push on the lid and trying to get out. My parents came in once and I was standing up on my dresser pushing on the ceiling.   Weird but true.

I have the same dream everytime I need to start Christmas shopping.  I dream I'm in an antique store, and there is a giant wooden chest of drawers and cubbyholes that covers one whole wall.  I pull open all the drawers and there are miniature versions of what I think people want for Christmas in them.  I think it's my subconcious trying to keep track of all the gift ideas I've thought of all year long.  Unfortunately, none of the drawers are labeled, and if I don't have any ideas for a particular person, I spend the whole dream opening empty drawers at random!

My favorite dreams are all lucid, though.  Does anyone else have those?  I love the moment when you realize that you are dreaming and that you can make anything happen for the rest of the dream.  I hate when something wakes me up in the middle of one of those - it's so lovely to have a whole world under your complete control, even if you know it's not real at the time!

I had a dream last night that I came home (where I grew up as a kid) and some truck with a bunch of hunters were coming out of our woods where NO HUNTING signs were posted.  I yelled at them that I got their license plate number (and I didn't because I can't see that far) and one guy got out with a rifle and the others left.  It was him and me and he had a gun.  I was wishing I hadn't said anything.  Then I woke up.

I worry sometimes about dreams that I can remember several hours after I wake because they almost always come true in some way or another.  I remember an older dream I had and in this dream, I was able to fly.  But for some strange reason, I kept loosing the power to fly and would fall.  But somehow managed to never hit the ground.  A few days later when I was at work, ( was a roofer at the time ) I had climbed a ladder at a job site and got on the roof with a 80lb bundle of shingles and when I set them down, the package stuck to my gloves and pulled me over.  I wound up falling 30+ feet into the back of the shop truck that was parked right next to the building, on to a pile of insulation.

I have several more I can share but will save them for later.  ;)

Scary Sandmansa.

Last night's dream was: I had set the house on fire by fiddling with a very old thermostat in the middle of the night. Blue flames came up the thermostat along my fingers into the wall and attic of a very old house.  They even caught my bathrobe on fire but I put it out. I tried blowing the fire out on the thermostat by breathing on it as hard as I could. The fire blew out a hole through the roof and caught a tree on fire.  I yelled for my hubby to wake up and call nine one one. He did.  It was in the country and the neighbors came over to help us out. My hubby went to move the fancy cars we  had in the back yard that belonged to other people and yelled at me to get my car. I ran inside the house to find my shoes and could not find them. I put on a deck shoe that was too small but could not find the other shoe to save my life.  I also was looking for the cat carrier for the cat and could not find it in the linen closet where I keep it. I was hopping around trying to figure out what to save it the house while hubby tried to save the cars. looking for my other shoe.  However the fire was not burning up the house quickly it was smoking up through the roof through the hole it had made.  When you walked into the bedroom you could hear the crackling of the fire.   A sheriff showed up and he asked what was going on and I took him into the house, but he could not hear the crackling of the fire in the attic.  The I was outside again trying to convince the sheriff the house was really on fire.  The neighbor lady yelled at me: "I gotta go check on my beans."  The fire department still had not shown up yet when I woke up.

Talk about a weird dream!
