I am in So.Cal. That's an amazing number, so how many within your zip code?

It shows 21 within 25 miles of my zip code.
That is a shock to me.  I thought there were only 2-3.

15 in my zip.  I had contacted every one to get into a night unit!  Finally one 13 miles away started a night shift and took me on!

23 for me but that list isn't up to date because I know of another local center that opened sometime in 2005.

There are 34 units within 25 miles of my zip.  22 of them are Davita, 9 are FMC and the other 3 are attached to hospitals.

14.  And as far as I can tell (I did a lot of calling) none of them have shifts starting later than 1 or 2pm.  Sucks for the working person.

It basically it's just a fancy way of saying that the mortality rate at that clinic is within the acceptable limits for a dialysis facility.  Also, there aren't lots of unexpected or unusual deaths.

There are 48 dialysis facilities available within 10 miles of Sandman's house! WOW!

Can't look up Canadian ones but I recently found out that there is a Davita unit in Toronto Canada lol .. like I would ever go to them after what I have heard! I will stick with mine (Fresenius)  ::)

I told you!  There are at least three that are close enough to walk to.  Literally only 4 city blocks away and those are all (Fresenius) units.  ;)

yeah, as the annual reports (from medicare) explain, they observe the death rate among patients treated at each facility, and compare that to the expected death rate for that facility based on its patient population factors like age, sex, race, comorbid conditions, etc; and also compare it to state and national averages.
