There is Joe Paul! I knew you would be here at some point! Harley has been waiting for you. Lots of good hockey being played right now.

We can watch it from our homes or bars or wherever there is cable but at the Igloo (arena) they usually have a hugh screen set outside and thousands of fans show up and it is just a fun thing to do, but because it is an away game the lose advertising money so they don't do it.... we will still get to see it!! So glad to finally hear from you Joe Paul!

And what a great game it was!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOO!! Red Wings 5 - Penguins 0. One more to go.......
LET'S GO RED WINGS <clap> <clap> <clap clap clap>
On another note - I do think it's really cool how the fans have that lawn party outside the Igloo, and really nasty that NBC won't allow the game to be shown on the screen out there. That's ridiculous!! We really don't have anywhere outside the Joe for something like that - but the party inside, and in my basement, is GREAT!! Saturday's game had about 20 people over at my house. Many watched it on the big projected screen in the basement, and others trickled off and watched it on the TV in my family room. It was so much fun!!! We enjoyed a pregame BBQ, then settled in when the puck dropped. I guess there wasn't much 'settling', though, for that game. It was sheer electricity in my house and throughout Detroit.
Looking forward to Tuesday. We have an inflatable Stanley cup that no one is allowed to touch once the playoff games start. The boys were saying on Saturday that they can't wait to touch that cup again. Perhaps Tuesday.....

WOW total domination from start to finish...
Guess this is the last chance for the pens to tie it up and make it REALLY exciting.
Sounds like a good time at your house

The first quarter was OK but the Pens sucked and didn't play worth crap, they just could not move the puck.... I am hoping the game tomorrow will be more interesting, we will have to wait and see....GO PENS (I still have my faith).

OK! Side door is always unlocked for games. We don't answer the door - just come on down to the basement - follow the hoots and hollers!

Hubby pulled out the card table. He's put a white tablecloth on it. He has my son's old white gloves from marching band, and is hoping to move our inflatable stanley cup to the covered card table tomorrow night. He's so cute how excited he is.
Oh - also - he doesn't cook. But, today, on the way home from work, he stopped at a cake decorating store. He purchased a RED velvet cake mix, some white frosting, RED and white striped cupcake papers, some RED sprinkles, and some little RED WING jersey shapes to stick in the top of the cupcakes. I'm dialyzing right now, and he's upstairs making cupcakes!!! Don't worry, we have a baby monitor, I also have the telephone right here, and he comes downstairs every 5 minutes to be sure I'm OK. Isn't he adorable?!!

Pittsburgh may be down, but we aren't out. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but when Pittsburgh is involved that old Pittsburgh pride steps in - GO PENS!!

Well done Pittsburgh.
Now that it is tied up time for the wings to win the cup at home

My Wings were sluggish in the first 2 periods, and even without the officials calling some blatantly obvious penalties, the Penguins deserved to win that game. So, it's a game 7 back at Detroit. I don't like game 7's, they are toooooo stressful. I'm no longer speaking to paul.karen.

I like game 7 when it doesn't involve my team! But, when it is MY team, it is very stressful. I would be sick with worry until it is all over. Cherpep, how were the cupcakes?

They were quite tasty. Hubby is not a chef, certainly not a baker, but he did an outstanding job on the cupcakes!! The company and food were both great - even if we didn't win the game. I guess we just get to do it all again on Friday. We'll also have a dish of TUMS available for the guests.
