A little history, and then the question.
I am on a transplant list at a local transplant center.  I have two donors who are matches and being worked up now.
Since I started at this facility, about a year ago, there have been problems.  Minor problems, but numerous.  Mostly with the lab, but also with my coordinator and her assistant.
It started with not enough blood being taken, (this has happened at least three times,) blood being lost, doubling my dose of IVIg infusion by mistake, and telling me I have a black cloud over my head.
I had a meeting with the surgeon and coordinator.  They "seemed" appalled and said they were going to figure out what the problem is and get back to me.  Then it happened again yesterday.
Now, the question:
Does this happen at all hospitals?  Am I overreacting wanting to go to another facility?

You are absolutely NOT overreacting.  I would throw a huge fit and start contacting the other facility.  That is crap!  If they lose your blood what will they do with your kidney??  If you don't have trust now, you need to find it at a new place.   :welcomesign;  The sign is supposed to say "BYE"

Thanks you two.
I've already got the ball rolling.  My insurance has approved a referral to UCLA.  I need to do a little research and then make the appointment.

You are right, goofynina, this is an amazing group of peeps

I might excuse 1 mistake but not continual ones. I'd surely change transplant centers.

Just a quick OT to say I'm glad I found this site so early in my own story.  I'm already feeling better prepared.

Have to agree with Vandie on the site and it's contributors.

So glad you are here, OC.

Just an update:  I have orientation on Monday with UCLA.  Not sure when I can get an appointment for an eval.   Have had many discussions with doctors and coordinators at current transplant center.  They assure me that they have taken care of the issues and that none of theses things will happen again.  Still moving forward with UCLA.  Need to have all my ducks in a row before making this decision.
Thanks for all the input.  It's greatly appreciated.  You guys are the best!!

If you are a Kaiser patient consider UCSD for double listing along with UCLA.  Thats what I did and got my transplant pretty quick after about 27 months on the list.

Not Kaiser, but with my insurance, I am allowed to double list.  I do, however, have a donor who is ready for her work up. . . . . Bless her.
27 months?!  Not too shabby. . . . . :clap;
