You are absolutely NOT overreacting. I would throw a huge fit and start contacting the other facility. That is crap! If they lose your blood what will they do with your kidney?? If you don't have trust now, you need to find it at a new place. The sign is supposed to say "BYE"
Vandie, go with your instincts girlfriend, how can you say your overreacting when it is not only your life but your friends as well, you deserve the best and dont settle for nothing less, k, keep your chin up, this WILL happen for you. Please make sure you keep us updated with everything k, dont forget,, we are a pretty damn good support group here, an AWESOME one at that, i have found that out a long time ago Good Luck...
A little history, and then the question.I am on a transplant list at a local transplant center. I have two donors who are matches and being worked up now.Since I started at this facility, about a year ago, there have been problems. Minor problems, but numerous. Mostly with the lab, but also with my coordinator and her assistant. It started with not enough blood being taken, (this has happened at least three times,) blood being lost, doubling my dose of IVIg infusion by mistake, and telling me I have a black cloud over my head.I had a meeting with the surgeon and coordinator. They "seemed" appalled and said they were going to figure out what the problem is and get back to me. Then it happened again yesterday. Now, the question:Does this happen at all hospitals? Am I overreacting wanting to go to another facility?
Just a quick OT to say I'm glad I found this site so early in my own story. I'm already feeling better prepared.Have to agree with Vandie on the site and it's contributors.
If you are a Kaiser patient consider UCSD for double listing along with UCLA. Thats what I did and got my transplant pretty quick after about 27 months on the list.
