Hi everyone,

I am 44 years old, married with 2 children, one son 24, and a daughter 12.  Plus 2 dogs, 4 cats, and a sulphur-crested cockatoo.  Nothing like unconditional love, they accept you on your good and bad days - no matter how bad you look or feel.  I would be lost without them.  My husband however that is another story.  >:D  There are several fish tanks around the house which are soothing to watch, but that is my husband's hobby.

I have been on home dialysis for 2 years officially this Christmas, - it was one hell of a Christmas present 2 years ago.  Although I have only been a dialysis patient for 2 years, I have been a lifetime renal failure patient.  So I knew this was coming it was just a matter of when.

I am looking forward to corresponding with other people, sharing experiences as some days even just looking at my dialysis machine i feel utter comtempt, borderline hate for it.  But then it is a necessary evil, and down deep (I mean real deep) I mean abyss type deep  :Kit n Stik;- I am eternally grateful that it is there.

Happy to have found this forum, and looking forward to learning, chatting and sharing.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome,  just still looking around at the site at the moment, learning how it works and getting the feel of things.  Please excuse me for any mistakes or errors I make.  I live in Queensland, and at the moment we are presently in the process of moving.  We are moving only a few suburbs away, but, as I am hooked up to my "faithful friend" every 2nd day for 5 hours - life is a little bit hectic at the moment.  Hopefully in about a months time, will be able to spend more time raving and ranting.  This is wonderful site and I have a lot of reading to catch up on. :thx;

 :oops; sorry just read the do not reply.

Welcome to our community, moonshadow!   (no, you can reply in this section.  just don't ask questions that should be in a discussion thread).  it's great to welcome another Aussie among us.  this welcome is from one born under the Union Jack (Barbados, now living in the British Virgin Islands) and sharing the Commonwealth and Cricket!
As you would have seen, you have joined an absolutely superb international family, caring and sharing!  :grouphug;  So when you have the time, keep reading, and above all, keep posting!  Looking forward to hearing from you.
