Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017

The dogs are great Kim!

It's a really beautiful area where Kim lives, the Annapolis Valley.  Nova Scotia is a special place and I'm so happy I got to spend four years living and working there, just down the way from where Kim lives now.

  Well as you can see  I have Siberian Huskies...This is my second pair....... We live on the pacific coast so we go walking on the beach daily     rain or shine....   my dogs are two years old now and have learned many commands.....  like cliff..... so they stay at the cliff on the beach and they don't go to the water... and they know   water   so they know to go to the water.......  This has been important to know because in the winter  when the waves are really rough  I don't let them next to the surf.... to dangerous..... but for the most part    they know cookie  sit    and    Bed.... yes they sleep with me....  they are great dogs   fur and all......  There names are   Juno   and  Ketah..... after towns in either Alaska or Canada..... that seems to be the trend for this breed....

Tyefly, my uncle use to get Siberian Huskies and loved visiting him for the dog. After a few passings, he has switched to Rottweilers.

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it
Home with Guide dog - July 27, 2012
Knee Surgery #2 - Oct 15, 2012

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

We have 7 cats, we had 5 for a long time until this spring my son found a very hungry kitten lost and scared and there was a wild kitty I had been feeding for a year or so finally he became even more tamer, enough that I was finally able to catch him and I at first took him to the shelter we thought we had to many cats already, next day feeling guilty I called the shelter to check on him only to hear they were going to put him to sleep they thought he was to wild, I immediately took him back and its been 3 months now he is the most gentile and laid back cat ever always sleeps on his back! I worry a little about my catheter but will never give up my cats....Oh and almost forgot Nibbles the rat, and I have 3 fish as well a full house.

Yes he is the one!!, it was my wife's birthday and one of the kids put the hat on him, he wore it for almost and hour until my daughter took it off. he is a 'Big' cat about 19 pounds and not fat either!
