My cat today decided that she likes my new cereal.  I was trying to be health conscious, so I bought some Fiber One.  It has 13 grams of fiber per cup.  Most breakfast cereals have only 3 grams.  I make a trail mix out of it, with almonds, dried cherries and a little bit of chocolate.  I was munching away today when my cat decided she needed a taste, so I gave her a cereal flake.  She ate it. . . and another, and another, and another.  She finally quit begging after about 10 flakes.  Guess all that fiber filled her up.

I am sooooo not going near the cat pan tomorrow. . .

       Thanks everbody. These are some great pics.  If I can find, everything is still scattered after moving here, will try to post a photo of our dog Pooki sleeping with me after I got out of the hospital in 2007. I really miss that dog.

   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it
Home with Guide dog - July 27, 2012
Knee Surgery #2 - Oct 15, 2012
Eye Surgery - Nov 2012

Well I found another use for my fistula!

My daughter's new kitten still misses its mommy so I held her in my arms and she curled up against my fistula and started ppprrring just like my fistula. Everytime I move her she would curl right back against it and sleep.

So now you know what else it is good for. :rofl;

awww tht is so cute with the kitten. I have 2 young cats. They are sisters called Cookie and Millie. We think that they think they are dogs lol.

It was pretty interesting.  We learned about "marker" words like "yes" that are short and tell the puppy that she had done good.  Good puppy it too long and it all about tone anyway.  I guess you could say apple as long as you say it cheery.  We learned how to stroke them and talk to them to calm them down.  There were 7 dogs in the class all shapes and sizes and the big ones looked hard to handle.

Well, Dougal's finally going something to earn his Dog Biscuits.....

As most of you know, I'm caring alone for my Mum, Elsie alone...

The Irish Carers Assocation are giving us great support, including a promise to provide Home Respite help for Mum while I'm in hospital.....

Anyway, Dougal's taking part in the National Dog Walk to raise funds for the charity.... Here he is....

Of course, I don't expect anybody to donate (would love it people could, but I'm fully aware that everybody's struggling at the moment), but I'd really appreciate it if IHDers would wish us luck!... Knowing my luck, the biggest ever dog fight will break out with skin and fur flying in all directions!!!..... Thankfully Dougal LOVES other dogs... At least I know that HE won't be starting the scrap!.....

By the way Mods.... If I've put this in the wrong spot, please feel free to move it!.... Just wanted to share Dougal's efforts with other pet lovers... Thanks....

Darth, great site and good for Dougal for volunteering to walk!   I can't tell if US funds are accepted, but I will explore the site more to find the answer.  Every little bit helps.    Does Dougal have a rain coat to wear?   :rofl;  Or some boots for his paws??

They'll take ANY currency, and any amount, however small, Paris!!!!... There have already been donations in Sterling and NZ Dollars.... The site then converts it to euros...

Re the coat... For God's sake, don't give Mum ideas or she'll have me searching the shops for THE perfect coat!!!!...... And I hate shopping!!!!!..... Mum says I'm to bring a blanket for my lap... Not to keep my clothes clean in the event of him hopping into my lap... Oh no... It's because, and I quote'The Little Man has to comfortable and cosy!'... Charmed, I'm sure!!!!.....
