HOw they are brought up is extremely important, but genetics do play a role. Individual lines (in any breed) can have temperament problems.

Mommy is a maltese and I can honestly say she must have been sleeping around because the pups do not look like Maltese poodles. :Kit n Stik;

Just another hamster on the dialysis W.O.F.

« Reply #1657 on: December 05, 2009, 11:19:16 AM »

 We had a poodle/schnowzer (I know I didn't pell that coorectly,sorry) mix. My wife had 14 years, she was part my family for 4 years. Unfortunately, her ahe and health became too much of a problem for her so we recently had to "pu her to sleep" on the recomendation of our vet. We hope to get a new dog this sumer. Right now the step daughter's two dogs (not shure what breeds mixed but they are big and black) stay with often. They would let a burgler carry off the house, they sre "laid back". But if a stranger comes close to the grand kids they go straight into "protect mode" and I'd not want to be anyone who might the two little boys.

A few members asked to meet my new long hair chihuahua Barney. I decided id go ahead and post his mug, I hope he don't mind. I am going today to pick up barneys future wife, when I pick her up, I will post her mug as well. 1 snag is this week she is only 7 weeks. As you may know, breeders do not let their pups go till 8 weeks. I will try and pry her from the breeders hands, I am going to tell her that with my recent transplant, time constraints would make it easier if I were to bring her home today. Please keep your fingers crossed she will let me have Barneys future wife today.  Here is Barney:

We wont be getting Barney a wife. The breeder wont let me bring her home today, and with the new house a 200 mile round trip I wont have time to do twice. But I have barney, and one day will get him a wife. So sad for me, but thats the way it is.

Sorry to hear JP, but maybe in the best interest for the pup to be with mom for one more week? Not sure, but sorry to hear Barney won't have a wife at such a young age  :rofl; :rofl; Prearranged marriages are a pain after all :rofl; :rofl; It will work out in the end though in the your best intrestespecially if you want to be painting. You don't want to have  to clean two pups from paint now.

I just love labs. Used to have one named Honey. She was everyone's Honey, for sure. That habit they have of leaning against your leg won her many friends.

 :'( Miss that Honey dog. She was a good one.

These are the Snuggle Sacks they got for Christmas.  They mostley lay in the mouth of them.  The baby (Tia) will snuggle to the bottom once in awhile.

I lied.... I said I would not post any more pictures of them....  Sorry, this was too cute!  The pink shirt is from her Old Navy collection.
