Call your doctor. That is not normal. Also consider any med changes recently. I hope you find answers soon, because I imagine you feet must hurt if you have to be up and about.

Twirl,
Sorry to read about your feet swelling. Do you also feel like your legs are very heavy? That could be a circulation problem. I would call my neph like NOW, don't wait.

It sounds like on of your meds, Twirl. Are you, by chance, taking any hormones as a result of your pth surgery?

I'm sorry to hear this about your feet. Keep on at that doc. Is your BP OK? Any extra salt lately? I tend to swell when it's really hot. Keep us in the loop when you find out what's going on.

I have had this recently as well and found out its one of my tablets thats making me retain fluid. The reason they are swelling in the day is because you are on your feet more so the fluid heads downwards , thats why you also find they go down at night because maybe you have them up or are lay down ? Its worth checking if its a side effect of one of your new tablets tho' ..trouble is what you do, like me , i need these new tablets but dont need fluid retention!

twirl, you are so welcome. I have had to do all the digging on side effects with medications. We have had some doctors just say, "all medications have side effects". It really just pisses me off. At least tell me the most common ones to watch out for. I have found that you have to do all that stuff yourself.

I have had a venus doppler of my legs. It showed that some of the "flaps" were not closing tight and blood was not returning to my heart correctly. Scary, but not as bad as it sounds. It makes my feet and ankle sweel twice it's size. Keeping leg elevated helps. Careful attention to fluids, especially when in the heat. Hope you get some answers.
