Hello i am going tomorrow to get my fistula done.  I had one MANY years ago and I really don't remember how long the recovery is expected.  It is being done in my left upper arm.  Any input would be great.  I have booked 3 days off of work and am hoping that I will be able to go back by Monday.

Hi, Jay!

My husband's recovery from his upper arm
fistula was practically no time at all!  I know
everyone is different, but I hope you have
as easy a time as he did.
Sending good luck wishes to you, let us know
how it goes.

Hi Jay.  I had my upper, left arm fistula placed on 10/31/07.  I think I had "pain" for about three days.  Nothing too severe, just bothersome.  Although my incision was large (elbow to arm pit) I was able to use my arm pretty good, except for heavy lifting and such.  Good Luck and let us know how it goes!

Jay - I had my fistula surgery on a Monday and went back to work on Wednesday (placed in my wrist).

I'm going to attempt to send you the link showing my incision.  If it doesn't work let me know if you'd like me to email you the photo.  I must say it looks tons better now.   My arm was really swollen.  The reason he cut from elbow to armpit is because my vein was deep and he repositioned it closer to the surface.

Well, it's the day after, and it was fine, it's a bit sore but not too bad.  My guess the incision is about 2 or 3 inches long.  I have to change the dressing tomorrow.   From what they told me, it has some tubing in there to help attach it all together.  And it's buzzing big time, I would have to say probably more than the one I had years ago.

Jay, I was happy to read your post this morning about your arm. They got it right this time if it's buzzing good. Take care and keep us posted.  :cuddle;
