Hello everyone! My name is Phillip (as you could probably tell by my user name), and my girlfriend used to be on dialysis and has ESRD b/c of Lupus... so I figured I'd sign up here as she told me about the site (she is a member), so I could learn even more about everything than she has already told me, and to learn how to support her should she have to go on dialysis again in the future. I also want to understand everything that she went through, so when she talks to me about it, I might be able to know how to respond, and be empathic/sympathetic

Welcome Phillip to ihatedialysis.com,

Good to see your interest in learning about ESRD and the possibilities of dialysis, to help your girlfriend, what a lucky girl she is to have you. Take your time reading and feel free to post often.

you are the best
dialysis is hard and the needles hurt
just listen to her
that really helps
can you help her pass the time while she is in the chair?  :cuddle;
bring her ice from Sonic, it is the best
always be there with your kind heart :bandance;

That is awesome to see that you have devoted your self so much to her as to want to understand more of what she went through.  You have my vote as BBF! :welcomesign;

Thanks all! Oh, I realized I messed up in my first post... I said she is on dialysis, but I meant to say "used to be on dialysis and has ESRD"...  :oops;

I am his g/f. I asked him to join this site since you all are family to me and I want him to understand why I am the way I am with alot of things and when I do go back on dialysis it would be nice for him to be able to understand it. I have explained alot, but there is always more to learn.
