I have known for a while now that I have a donor who is a match. She has gone through all the physical test... blood tests....everything. She has been cleared to be my donor at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Tx. I am already on the transplant list at Baylor in Ft. Worth and Baylor in Dallas, but they are slow as malaises, so I also went to Covenant to be listed and to have my donors tested. I did bloodwork while I was there, but they didn't need any other tests. They ordered all my records from Baylor. Anyways, this Tuesday, Feb 19th they are taking me to committee to see if they accept me. I don't see why they wouldn't, considering I am already accepted at Baylor...... but I am asking for prayers. If they do accept me, then my tentative date for transplant is March 27th. I am so excited I cant see strait! I haven't mentioned this before for fear of jinxing it..... but I figure your prayers will trump the jinx Thank all of you for your prayers.

How exciting this all is. Just knowing that you have a living donor and that most is in readiness is a powerfully good thought. It sounds like all is pretty much in order and now all you have to do is to get that formality out of the way. I'll be heading upstairs soon and you will be in my prayers tonight. Good luck on Tuesday, I know it will go well for you.

Donnia - I missed this thread! That is wonderful news! I'm excited for you as well! You should get a call today from your coordinator telling you the "committee" accepted you! Why wouldn't they? March 27th, huh? I'll mark that on my calendar. My brother is admitted tomorrow morning for the remainder of his testing. Provided he makes it through without getting bumped, they'll send his info to the "committee" next Wednesday. We hope to schedule our transplant the same week as yours. That would be so cool if we transplant on the same day! Good Luck to you and your donor! I'll be thinking about you and praying for you!!
