Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great T-Day.   This posting contains 2 message's to you all.   First :  I want to thank everyone in IHD and especially Epoman for providing this website.  I finally began dialysis early this month.  And thanks to you all I had no real surprises !  Even tho I was infiltrated TWICE on the very FIRST try to my fistula and had to hurry and have a cath put in.  It was unpleasant, but thanks to IHD I knew what had happened and was not afraid.    So again thank's everyone.

Secondly, I had such fun T-Day. My grandson Adam came over wens. evening and we sat up and talked till 12;30 am.  Surprise,  surprise, we were discussing dialysis !  We both came to the conclusion that the only being in the house with functioning kidneys was the cat ! What a joy Adam is to me.

Have a good one folks !

Happy Turkey day to you, too, Phurball! (love the name, by the way!) I'm glad you were able to feel so confident going into your first dialysis session and that Adam and IHD were so much help to you.

I know how you feel about the cat, too...I've wondered once or twice if I could have one of my dog's kidneys!

Thank you for your messages.  I am so happy to hear your report.  IHD MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!  I am one of those people who came upon the site before I started and I can't begin to say how helpful it was.
I wish you all the best as you have started this journey with dialysis.   You didn't say what your feelings are like after dialysis.  How have the sessions been going for you?  Please fill us in.

Sorry about having to have an emergency catheter placed.  Do they send you directly to the hospital or what?

I want to be prepaired for everything beforehand, as well.  I am terrified!  I'm hoping to transplant and bypass dialysis for awhile!

As difficult as it is for both you and Adam to both be on dialysis - the blessing is that you both can understand and support one another - most families have no ides what to do or say.

Best wishes for many good days to come!
