Home hemodialysis since May 07

Great...after just 2 1/2 months using my fistula (a solid 6 months maturing and 2 angioplasties already) there's some narrowing so it's back to the Access Center on Monday. My trainer said it may just be my way...they have a patient who gets it done about every three months like clockwork. Just great...ah well, I gotta keep it running so off I'll go.

Sorry to hear that. I think some people are more prone to stenosis, just as some people are more susceptible to getting scar tissue than others.

I hope they can fix it!  :cuddle;

Yup, some of us "lucky" ones are on a first name basis with the crew who does the fistulagrams.  I've had 4 in the 11 months I've been on dialysis.

I'm sorry to hear about your fistula. I hope the angioplasty is effective long term this time. Wishing you better days ahead.

Just shoot me!  I will not do this if I keep having problems with my fistula!  I am not going to FUND the whole damn Medical Center just for dialysis which is going to get me NOTHING in the end.

So that was a good time...they ballooned me in 3 places and coiled a couple of accessory veins...now the fistula is buzzin' like a toy at Pam Anderson's house!  :lol;

Of course, my arm hurts like the dickens but it'll pass...will just have to wait and see if this becomes a regular occurrence or if it'll eventually toughen up and stop shrinking.

Did they give you anything for the pain or did they just tell you to take Tylenol for the pain?  How long until you can use it again?

Ah, the lovely stenosis. I think the kidney institute is going to end up named after me because I have to keep going in there with access problems.
