I have had this strange bubble on top of my fistula. When i first noticed it i thought it was just a scab from being stuck. When i took a shower once it became black and feel off. What i saw was very strange it was a perfect hole! The powers to be couldn't figure it out. They would come over and poke at it and scratch their heads. I have had it now for six months or more. It has got infected many times in the sun or the pool. When i started to really look at it my self i wondered if it wasn't from the end of the needle under my skin. The first needle stops right at the bump. So because of their frustration they have come up with a solution! I have to get a fistulagram on October 4th. Wish me luck.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

good luck, i had fistulagram a couple of months back, they gave me a sedative where the original surgery cut was, then they proceeded to push the wire all the way up to my shoulder blade,up top it hurt like hell, then to top it off the decided to balloon it, not the best procedure i've ever had

It's been awhile but they or i should i have found out what that strange bubble is. About a year ago or so i had two operations on my fistula because i wasn't getting enough blood to my hand. My fingers were blue and numb. Well after the second operation it worked. So about a week ago after a shower i looked at it and started laughing it was a piece of stitch! I pulled on it and thought it would just come out. It didn't and i when i did pull on it i felt it tug on the fistula. I went to the surgeon who was surprised to see it after all this time. He cut it out. Now maybe i can meet a nice woman. Having a piece of string hanging out of your arm is not cool with the ladies.

I'm glad you got that stitch out. No wonder you had a few infections.
I had a similar problem in the beginning with my hand turning blue. My fistula is in my right arm and my permcath was in my right shoulder and it was stopping the blood flow into my arm. There is nothing worse than worrying about your access/ fistula.
