Anesthesiologist rant

So I'm in the pre op room before my operation for my fistula and nervous as hell of course.
The anesthesiologist came to my bed and doesn't say any thing about the operation but
starts to tell my about food portion sizes, and then he gives me instructions on how to
breathe, using my diaphragm etc. Thank goodness the O.R. nurse told me about the operation since
the bloody Dr. was obviously concerned only about his own agenda. If the damn Dr. want to
change my life style why didn't he become an internist?

OH man, sorry to hear that BigSteve, i hope you let them know how they made you feel.  The reason they keep doing it cuz people dont really speak up and let them know how they were treated.  My hospital always sends me a questionairre as to how I was treated, from beginning to end and if there was ANYTHING that upset me, i let it be known.  (although i have been pretty lucky except for one time) and i got that nurses aide suspended!!!  If you dont speak up for yourself they are not going to know how you feel.  Good luck my friend.

Maybe he was dipping into his person stash of anesthesia and was a little wacked out.
Otherwise he's just a nimrod!

Does he work for Kaiser?

No, this was in the out patient surgery center at my local giant medical center.
Actually I was able to get into the Kaiser pre dialysis class and get much more
information than my neph would give me. Kaiser is strongly pushing PD.
