Some nosy lady asked me what was wrong with my arm and pointed out my fistula.  This was just before Christmas and it was hot here in New Jersey and I had on a tee shirt.  For some reason the question annoyed me, I think it was the tone that the Question was asked.  I suddenly had a BobN moment and told her that I was just back from the tropics and I got a couple of bug bites and about a week later they started to grow.  I then told her I was waiting to see what emerged.  She started turning green.  I finished her off by raising my arm causing the fistula to shrink, told her maybe we will find out now.  Last I saw she was running out of the store screaming.  I doubt she will ever ask a person again about a body flaw.

My mother in-law was shown a picture of a mature fistula and she said "that must be an EXTREME case!". A case of what? Dialysis? Kidney failure?? As if it can be compared to a case of chicken pox...

Guinnea worm disease.  It wasn't diagnosed early enough, and the worm got too big, so they had to leave it in.
