  Hello to everyone.....  I live in Oregon   and    I am not new  but returning after a few years off  wondering what is going on in life.....LOL     

I   Live in Oregon    and    did do dialysis    and    had a transplant three years ago......    no rejection  just not the best kidney..... came with scaring  and a high creatinine level....    stable   but  High....   

So  I am checking back to see how others are doing and was wondering if they have changed much in the dialysis programs....... I was hoping for  organ growing program  but I guess that hasn't happened yet......

Uninterrupted in-center (self-care) hemodialysis since 1982 -- 34 YEARS on March 3, 2016 !!

No transplant.  Not yet, anyway.  Only decided to be listed on 11/9/06. Inactive at the moment.  ;)
I make films.

Just the facts: 70.0 kgs. (about 154 lbs.)
Treatment: Tue-Thur-Sat   5.5 hours, 2x/wk, 6 hours, 1x/wk
Dialysate flow (Qd)=600;  Blood pump speed(Qb)=315
Fresenius Optiflux-180 filter--without reuse
Fresenius 2008T dialysis machine
My KDOQI Nutrition (+/ -):  2,450 Calories, 84 grams Protein/day.

Hi tyefly,

I also received a kidney 3 years ago, from a live donor 29 years my senior. My kidney is now 70. My creatinine is quite high, but that is mainly due to it being permanently injured by a biopsy needle just over 3 months after surgery. My creatinine is anywhere from 3.0 -3.3. Thankfully, I feel fine and am able to live life pretty normally. How are you feeling?

I should add - I am back on the list and have been since July 31, 2013. I am currently inactive due to my kidney function being stable.

1996 - Diagnosed with Proteinuria
2000 - Started seeing nephrologist on regular basis
Mar 2010 - Started Aranesp shots - well into CKD4
Dec 1, 2010 - Transplant Eval Appt - Listed on Feb 10, 2012
Apr 18, 2011 - Had fistula placed at GFR 8
April 20, 2011 - Had chest cath placed, GFR 6
April 22, 2011 - Started in-center HD. Continued to work FT and still went out and did things: live theater, concerts, spend time with friends, dine out, etc
May 2011 - My Wonderful Donor offered to get tested!
Oct 2011  - My Wonderful Donor was approved for surgery!
November 23, 2011 - Live-Donor Transplant (Lynette the Kidney gets a new home!)
April 3, 2012 - Routine Post-Tx Biopsy (creatinine went up just a little, from 1.4 to 1.7)
April 7, 2012 - ER admit to hospital, emergency surgery to remove large hematoma caused by biopsy
April 8, 2012 - In hospital dialysis with 2 units of blood
Now: On the mend, getting better! New Goal: No more in-patient hospital stays! More travel and life adventures!

Wonderful to see all of you here too....   This is short and want to talk to all of you  but  I am flying out to Alaska tomorrow  to visit my daughter who has been building a log cabin my hand...  with her boy friend....( I hope soon to be hubby )...  they live in Homer and  well I am going up there ( yup in the middle of winter )  to visit everyone  for Christmas and the New Years......  I will be back  Jan  7      and    then we can all get caught up......

So nice to be back on the computer.......  and to see people here doing well.....      take care  be back with the pictures......... :cuddle;

Hello, I'm DC based but my father who now lives in Anchorage is also building a cabin in Homer!  Hope you enjoy the trip.  Hopefully you'll get good clear and crisp weather so you can see some northern lights.

Transplant July 2017 from out of state deceased donor, waited three weeks the creatine to fall into expected range, dialysis December 2013 - July 2017.

Well on dialysis I traveled a lot and posted about international trips in the Dialysis: Traveling Tips and Stories section.
