I've played since I was a child. I'm a better accompanist than soloist. I have a few books I like to dabble with and I also play hymns. I can sight read but find it impossible to memorize. Anymore it's just playing for me. I came out of "retirement" to accompany a children's camp where they learn a musical. I had done it for years and then couldn't keep up physically for the week. Last summer they had no one and I figured out a way to do it. I love playing but I lost some musical abilities when I lost some brain function in my coma 5 years ago. It doesn't even matter what you play as long as you like it. Music can have great benefits.
Hello,I would like to know if there are any pianists with a fistula? I am very concerned about loosing dexterity in my fingers and concerned about my fingers becoming cold as this might also have an effect... Thanks from Kristina.
