Big Day today!! :bandance;      After months of waiting we got our shorter , 3/5 inch   15 guage  sharp and blunt needles. It took a lot of work to push it through but patience paid off.  I love them already.  We have a very short fistula to work with and the longer needles were a real problem.
I thank Fresenius for allowing this and getting them for us. They are Medisystems needles.
I immediatly see a benefit. As predicted , the pressures are lower on the fistula at venous, arterial and effluent by at least 15 points. That is great as it will put less stress on the fistula.
Tommorow I can move further up the fistula then I ever dared as I dont have to worry as much about the sharp tip going out an inch up the fistula and tearing it or infiltrating.
Its amazing how small things like this make us happy.  :clap;

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband,  He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go.
He had a transplant in November 2019.

Healthy people may look upon me as weak because of my illness, but my illness has given me strength that they can't begin to imagine.

Always look on the bright side of life...
