I try really hard to have a good attitude, but I've just got to vent a little.

I had my fistula put in August 12.  Veins are small, it's been slow to develop.  Finally, in November I was sent in for a fistulagram, followed by angioplasty for 3 narrow spots.  Sent back last week for another fistulagram to make sure the stenosis had not returned, and all looks good.  Wait another 4 weeks to use it, they said.

Meanwhile, I have my catheter.  My center has sent me twice to have it replaced, only for the vascular center to deem it working just fine.  Well, this morning it won't pull off either side and has apparently slipped out of place a bit.  So back to the vascular center I will go to have it replaced today.

I know I have it easier than a lot of people, so I hate to complain.  I'm just tired of it all I guess.  Doesn't help that dh's reaction to having to take me back AGAIN was less than supportive....at lease initially.  He is usually great, but has had to reschedule appointments the past 2 weeks because of me, and well, he does need to keep his job.

Nothing earth shattering, but I do appreciate having this place to vent.

Just noticed I put this in the wrong place...result of hitting "show unread posts."

Feel free to move to the appropriate place!

Just relax and breath.    I had issues as well when I started, with the catheter I kept geting infection after infection and because i'm allergic to tape, I lost a few layers of skin around my site.  and then with the fistula it didn't work when they stared using it and once they finally got it fixed, it's all good now. Been good for 3 years knock on wood.

But for the first 6 months on D, I missed so much work and all that and the hospital ER was my home away from home.

Just hang in there, things always have a way of working them self out.

And we will always be here for you to vent.

As Rain said, this is a good place to vent.  While I believe none of us really wants to complain about our situation (what go does that do) It is always nice to be able to vent our feelings.   It is kinda like going into the closet and screaming your lungs out.  That seems to make it a little easier to continue on.  So vent when you need, there are a lot of others that understand and can relate.

I know I have it easier than a lot of people, so I hate to complain.

Knowing there is always someone worse off is only helpful up to a certain point, though, ya know?  I can only think like Pollyanna for just so long before I'm frustrated with all the crap I'm dealing with because of my health.  It's good to vent it out - and it's always good that we can do that here, where there are people who understand!

Oh the joys of dialysis saying something is wrong with your access and IVR disagreeing! it's annoying.

That was a very tiny little rant. Not bad at all. But, you are right, this is the place to let it all hang out, so to speak. Feel free, as we all have to rant once in awhile.
