I was wondering does anyone here ever experience extra or premature hartbeats? I've been noticing this intermittently lately and I'm going to schedule with a cartiologist to be evaluated but was wondering if anyone here on dialysis has ever experienced them. I looked on the internet and this term is close to what I'm experiencing. ectopic beats

Yes, I have.  I hid it for a long time because I just knew my heart would just STOP and it would be the end of this.  But, then after a YEAR my heart kept going and those premature beats were driving me NUTS.

So, I went to a cardiologist and he put this 48 hour monitor on me and I had to press this button everytime I felt it happen.  So, for 48 hours I kept ..... push, push, push, push, push, push.  I think I quit after 5 hours.  My god, I thought my thumb would fall off.

I'm on Metoprolol 25mg but I only take 1/2 tab a day.  My heart went right back in rhythm.  So, don't wait like I did because I was not going to have open heart surgery or a heart cath.  A pill does the trick.

Please Sulli make that appt. right away. How has your K been?  There are so many heart problems that it could be. But in my opinon, a person on dialysis should we extra concenrned but of potassium. I hope it ends up being something that can be taken care of and less severe. Just as re run experiences it, looks like thier is something to help handle the situation. Make that call!
